| | third party video showing some general differences
The first link is a video I found showing differences between iphone 3Gs and blackberry (no not storm) that had good overall info that's been discussed in these forums. I was looking for the time frame of when Webkit would be available on BB. https://www.tdsresearch.com/equities...1-7e5d5cac7109 RIM Says BlackBerry Browser To Be On Par With iPhone By Next Summer Top 10 Reasons RIM Needs To Update The BlackBerry Browser Immediately RIM acquires WebKit browser maker Torch Mobile, shuts down WM version - International Business Times RIM buys Torch Mobile: BlackBerry to FINALLY Get WebKit Browser?*|*Gear Diary
Background: I am an Alltel customer who will be switching to Verizon (was on the old old AT&T-CDMA and had to switch when they moved to Cingular years ago because I need the phone to work in the boonies).
My phone has died (I also hated it because WEB was useless so why pay for data) & I'm truly looking for a consumer and work phone for my more than 1/2 consumer needs (yes I know all about enterprise issues, but this is my phone & I do almost all of my work emails on computer, but will possibly use it in a pinch. Don't currently need to worry about BES, consider me BIS at this point).
I am honestly trying to decide whether to get the storm2 or look at something like the Moto Sholes/Tao/Droid or something else like those. For me the full HTML is very important & I know that BB Torch Mobile will have one next summer, but does anyone know exactly when it will be out? I don't know if I want to wait when the technology is out now on other phones. Also want media features available on other phones and the other features available like on an iphone, but again I can't get iphone because I won't go to AT&T. Any suggestions please. Storm2 looks great except for WEB, but again, am frustrated that I have to choose between features and by the look of the forums I am in the majority. So should I wait for Storm3 and get something else now that works now instead of hoping for upgrade over nine months from now or get storm2 & grin & bear it? Sorry for the long post.
Again thank you to Sal, Kevin, and all the people that put up helpful info. in these forums and thank you for any advice.

What about the Maps? IPhone are maps are insane, you can watch your car drive as a Blur dot to where you are going - does the BBS2 have that?
And there's no way texting is better than the I - none.
Also call Quality in the BBS1 and TOUR for that matter were known as blackeyes to VZW ...
I'm going to need to see this for myself ....
And Sal - what about the Battery Pull and Shutdown?? does the BBS2 still do that crap?

I've never had a complain about my Tour's call quality... Almost everyone I work with owns a Tour and they haven't complained either...
Since I upgraded my software on the S2, I haven't had the need to do a battery pull... But when it restarts its really fast.

Update: Sorry Kevin, I neglected to attach your original posting of this video back in August. I've been going through all the forums in depth for the past five months to figure out my next phone purchase.
Thanks again for all of the info. http://crackberry.com/blackberry-hav...berry-tid-bits |

BigMike...with all those apple apps shouldn't you be lighting your virtual lighter or firing your virtual gun about now out of boredom. Sad thing you can have 75,000 useless apps and only run 1 at a time.
Here is the news Mike...no one gives a **** if you buy an S2. Your opinions are pretty useless as well.

Only the HTC Imagio is rated higher on there! And the Storm had a tough start but many people who have them and actually have a say in it like the phone now.
Are you honestly trying to find out about this phone for purchase reason's or just to blackball it?

The compass is no good unless you know how to use or know which direction is East, West, North, or South. I am so sick of hearing these threads about the iPhone! Microsoft wanted to be like Apple with Vista and we all know how that worked out! I sure hope RIM takes a lesson from that! I don't want my Storm to be like an iPhone.
