had to charge twice so far..on pretty crappy signal and 40% brightness.
though.. it's my first BB so it's been getting lots and lots of abuse.
from 2am-12pm though on standby last night it only drained to 85%
i've been playing with it nonstop today and it's at 50%.
i expect it to last until about 11 tonight.
Did you guys remember to switch from Global to 1XEV?
I just checked that out and it says global. I switxhed it. We'll see what that does tomorrow. Should it really make a difference tho when it is in automatic mode?

Switching the radio connection from Global to 1XEV (country) reduces the frequency the radio searches for a connection thereby increasing the battery life by a large margin since use of the radio uses in general wastes a lot of the phones' power.
Switching from Global to 1XEV and changing GPS to E911 will greatly improve battery life. When I first got the tour the battery was sinking like the Titanic. I switched those two settings and battery life has been much improved. I left all other settings related to power unchanged. One benefit I have is the fact that I use a network extender at home, so I get full reception.
In CDMA the phones are always talking to the base station, assessing the noise level and adjusting power output of the handset transmitter. It determines the minimum signal needed, and helps improve battery life.

I tried changing the GPS to E911, but I am not sure how to do it. Little help please?
mine has been eh...i've lost almost half a battery so far today and was at work for 8 hours where i used it a total of only 10 minutes, lol. but when i do use it i am on the internet, texting, going into apps all at once, so i am using it pretty hardcore
wow went from 8:45 am till now which is 8:06pm and i only used one cell lol with 4 cells still left i use my phone quite often mayb just lucky battery for me?
Once the GPS is switched to 911 only is there a quick way to use the GPS in BB maps without having to manually change the setting again? Does leaving it on 911 only really make a big difference on battery life versus leaving GPS on?

I'm a pretty heavy user and I haven't noticed too much battery drain really. I'm actually very impressed with the way its holding up. Been on for about 12 hours so far and not even half the battery is gone.
All day using the web a lot, sms, mms, bbm, downloading apps, and sending emails all day, plus about an hour or so on calls

So I am on day two with normal usage. Both yesterday and today I only made it from 10am to 7pm on a single charge.
I am trying lowering the screen brightness tomorrow from 100 to 10.
How are you guys making out?

Unplugged since 11am this morning. Couple of calls, a few texts and some web browsing plus the basic receiving of emails, taking photos and gps play. Have screen set to 90% with no auto dimming.
I am now at 85% around 8.5 hours later
GPS is set to on (not just 911)
Made sure I am set to 1XEV and not global
Only app that may come into play for me would be BerryWeather which I have set to update every 30 minutes. I am
very impressed with battery life so far.
