Just an observation on my part but, when they showed the free memory of the bold 9650 it showed like 350mb free, so that means that the os takes up 200+? That would leave our tours with 56 free my tour gets buggy around 70mb, i dont see the tour getting os 6 either. Maybe a revamped updated 5.0 os but not six.

OH THE VIDEO I WATCHED WAS AARON FROM PHONEDOG.COM VIA YOUTUBE.

That would make the OS somewhere around 165mb, not 200+...Also, run Lyricidals Shrink-A-OS on that puppy and I'm sure you can shave out some more space as well.

Hahaha. I'm glad it was a 9700 owner and not a 9550 owner that said that.

If we don't get 6 then good bye blackberry... this is my first berry and it has been a generally terrible experience. The browser is slow, bolt is only marginally better but causes the wait clock to appear way too much. OS5 was a joke. If we don't get os6 then good bye. I am jumping to android as soon as possible, got the tour the day it came out, even waited outside the store.
Data outages don't help much with my retention either.

The OS 6 looks nice, but not enough of a change for me to stay. At least they are trying to change thing up a bit. Incredible? I think so.

I was on the fence about getting an EVO or not, but i think if RIM doesnt support the TOUR then i am definetly leaving blackberry.

Another disgruntled Tour owner, big shocker. I seriously don't understand how RIM deciding not to support a device that was just EOLed by 1/3rd of it's carriers warrants completely dropping the entire line. But hey, it's your loss. I'll enjoy 6.0.

Ok i may have mis spoke, i watched the video again the 9650 will have os 5.0 out of the box. So maybe rim is giving us some decent app memory

Plain and simple fact (for me at least) is that RIM phones are way too far behind in the times. I was one of those people who said they would never get rid of their blackberry. I have been using a blackberry for over 5 years. I went and played with a Droid phone and there is no comparrison.

You will be enjoying 6.0 and its features almost a full 2 years after all those features have been available on other phones already.

It has taken RIM too long to upgrade their OS and they keep recycling the same phones just with different internals. Too me that is unaccetable.

the simple reason the tour is not gettting OS 6 is for the lack of memory that the newer devices have and or will have. bye RIM, its been nice knowing you...i guess.

So I waited and waited for a decent OS for my Tour. 5.0 came and went (many iterations). I finally went with a hybrid since neither RIM nor VZW could support my OS needs. Why would I want to go through that misery again? 6.0? Keep it RIM.

I fell for the marketing, bought the Storm as soon as it was released, big disappointment. So I decided to give RIM/VZW another shot and went with the next newest thing, the Tour. Bought it as soon as it came out. Thus far, until I discovered hybrids I was again let down.

I will not be a fool again. I'm gonna jump ship when my contract is expired. I tried BB and it wasn't a horrible experience, but certainly has not lived up to its billing and price tag. Data outages I suppose occasionally happen, but for this price tag, my bill should be prorated; I pay for continuous service, I should receive it.

I am comfortable with my Tour using a hybrid OS, but not entirely pleased. By their track record OS 6.0 will be buggy.

I wish RIM listened to their customers more.
