I go to download the new updatw for Pandora today and decide to time my reboot time. 8 mins 49 seconds. Is this normal? After starting the reboot of my device I grabbed my wifes curve and downloaded the update and reboot and my tour was still working on it? I bet 2 mins went by before the tour was finished? Is reboot time effected by the amount of apps you have on your device?

Yeah I timed mine one day last week and it was easily more than 7 1/2 minutes. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. It shouldn't have anything to do with the number of apps consider I had more apps on my slower 8330 curve and that could reboot in about 2+ minutes tops.

Anyone have any suggestions? Other than going through the hassle of getting a new phone entirely

Mine takes anywhere from 5-8 minutes to reboot. Definitely longer than my Curve took. I am finding that most people with the Tour and saying about the same. I am on Sprint. I see the two posters above are on Verizon, so it looks like it is a universal Tour issue. I bet the next OS update will fix this.

I am having this same problem. Well not with Pandora but with reboot time.

I am noticing that the reboot time is dramatically becoming longer. First it was like 3.5 minutes. Now it sometimes takes around 10 minutes. My first guess is that I have too many apps installed on my device so it takes a long time to load the OS. But I dont know how to troubleshoot this problem to figure if that is really the case without uninstalling all my apps.

If anyone has a solution to this problem, please reply to THIS post. Thanks in advance! =D

Standard OS loaded or a beta or hybrid?

It depends on what you're doing. I find that if I just do a battery pull because the device is being a bit sluggish, it takes only a few mins (3 or so), but if I just installed an app (UberTwitter, Mini Opera), the reboot takes a little longer.

Kind of like installing updates on your computer and rebooting, takes a little longer, KWIM?

Same question for you as varmillion - have you installed a beta or hybrid os? I really can't understand why it seems 90% (guessing based on reading many posts) of tour owners with the standard .40 OS see boot times over 6 minutes.

Installing the hybrid didn't make that much of a difference for me. It used to take me like 4.5 min, now it takes 4 (I think mostly due to the stuff I removed when shrinking).

i did a battery pull when i got into my car this morning and it was up and running by the time i got to three or four blocks away, so somewhere from 2-5 minutes i would assume. I haven't tweaked many settings on my BB, I just put my phone in the holster case i have and open it up and it's rebooted already.

what is a hybrid OS and what are it's benefits/disadvantages/RISKS? will this help my boot up time?

more importantly, are these hybris OS's stable? I'm also assuming that if i have problems down the line, VZW will not support my phone any longer?
