(I'm going to repeat what has already been noted here.)

Since this article calls it a 9030, its either:

a. A bogus rumor, 'cause they got the model wrong, or

b. A different phone than what we are expecting in coming weeks (9630).

I am inclined to suspect its bogus, or whomever wrote that was confused. We know there's some QWERTY+TOUCH coming eventually (Magnum or Atlas or whatever), but I just doubt its the phone coming next.

So I called my local Verizon store to verify this rumor, and they confirmed it will have TOUCH! They also said its coming out this Friday, and each phone includes a free Ford F-150 pickup. (I'm joking kids... poking fun at rumors from store reps... sheesh, laugh a little.)

With absolutely no inside information on my side, let me tell you this isn't happening. Let's say we are going to see this thing official on June 22nd (in Canada at least), and all the pre-release models DON'T have a touchscreen? They can't add that in last minute.

9030 is a different series device. The article is incorrect saying this is a "tour". The tour 9630 will not have touchscreen capability.

I agree. This is the Atlas. We'll see it soon after the Tour on Verizon and I will kill myself for buying the Tour.

Well they said originally they would be released a few weeks apart. Hopefully we will have soild stats on both prior to the Tours release. I would be pretty heated if a touch version of the Tour came out 31 days after I get my Tour also.

I dont believe this but back around September of last year the Niagara was rumored to have a touchscreen with a qwerty. That was when we had little info about it....

I'm still not convinced that the 9630 will even be called a "Tour". I know I'm way out on the fringe, probably the only one who thinks so, but I'm a sincere doubter on the name "Tour".

I don't know, I like the surepress on my storm.....it just gets frustrating typing sometimes. In a model like this (assuming they keep the track ball) it would be the same as the Tour, but with the added ability to do gestures on the touch screen. Reminds me of Palms I use to use. Seems like a really good idea to me!

Assuming this is the Atlas, chances are it wouldn't be released right after the Tour. How could we have heard NOTHING about this until now? It doesn't make sense to be honest with you. I would still opt for the Tour. I hate touchscreens and I really don't see the need for touch capabilities when you have a trackball and full keyboard..

I'm sure you have your reasons. Someone as credible as yourself would never spread false rumors, which makes me believe this story even more. Like Armada said, cat's out of the bag!
