Smile Bye Storm, Hello _____!

Hello Everyone,
As almost a year of owning my Storm is approaching, im ready for a new device. But I simply can't choose. I was looking into the 8530 because i mostly want WiFi; since its a low-end device I was questioning it. The HTC Touch Pro 2 also was one of my choices. Advice anyone? Storm 2 was also in my line up but I want a physical keyboard also. Thanks!

I have the s2 and Tour and I find myself using the Tour more. I would highly suggest the Tour, but with the essex on the horizon, it may be worth it to wait a bit. 8530 is real cool. I played with it in the vzw store but like you said is on the low end and more of a starter phone

All though I am stiking with my Storm. I checked out the Droid and was amazingly impressed on its perfomance and features. I am going to wait a bit to see if RIM taps into that technology. Love my BlackBerry.

The pro 2 is a nice phone. I would get that or the droid.

If you want a new phone now and want to stay with BB, go play around with a storm2 at a vzw store, take all the time you need and make an informed decision. If you really really want a physical keyboard berry, hold off until the essex comes out, tour+wifi+optical trackpad is definitely a winner.

On the non berry side, droid and touchpro2 are quite nice, and I totally have geek-envy, but I'm very very happy with the storm2. No regrets here.

Have you gone to the store and messed around with any of the phones mentioned yet?

I can understand why someone would like to have a physical keyboard, go check out the Droid, I would consider you get a phone with both options. The on screen landscape keyboard of the Droid I tried out the other day was by far the most accurate and easy to use keyboard I have ever text with. Give it a try. I have the storm 9530, and plan on keeping it till either the new android passion comes out, or the iphone comes to Verizon in Q3 next year. By then, there should be several upgrades to all of the present RIM and Android cells.

I can tell you that I had the Storm, and loved it. Flaws and all. I just purchased the Motorola Droid, and am blown away. I still love my Storm, and BBs in general, but the Droid is just leaps and bounds ahead. I know that's not going to go over well with the CB heads, but all I can tell you is, give it a whirl. I think you'll be pleased.

I can't wait Spotmark. At my earliest financial opportunity (after xmas) I'm going to go Droid. I've seen it and I'm blown away. RIM has proven since the release of 5.0 that they're simply not interested in their browser's performance.

I think RIM does know they have to improve their browser, as evidenced by their recent acquisition, but I think they, and Apple to a degree, need to realize that their GUI is getting a bit stale. If, in a year's time, BB comes out with the next best thing, I'll be back, but for now, Android is the way.

IMO the Droid is the best phone Verizon offers, you don't have to worry about memory, keyboard, wifi, and the amazingly customizable homescreen.

Apple's started off stale, their amazing advertising and the hacking community is what kept that alive. If the "jailbreakers" would never have come along there would be no "app store" so Apple owes all their success to them. FWIW the iphone still doesn't even support themes, much less wallpapers, or multitasking..

Actually, No. I'm taking advice from you all, researching online, compare and contrast then on Tuesday I plan on purchasing a new device.
