Locked my phone with a 507 error. Called Nextel to get some help, said this has been happening all morning. Then wanted me to drive 1.5 hrs to nearest service center....argued.... argued some more....new phone on its way.
All I wanted is some help.... must be easier for techs to give away thier employers equipment than to actually work on the problem.

I had a thread when the phone first came out about how the 8350i was making my life as a contractor miserable. The previous upgrade before this one made the phone very usable and I was at least satisfied that I'd be able to use it for my full 2 year contract.

After upgrading, I've had the following problems:

1. If I ignore a call that comes in while already talking on the phone, after the call waiting beeps stop, my conversation is thrust into speakerphone mode and the phone goes back to the home screen. There is no way to hang up, turn speaker phone off, etc. The call will only end when the other person hangs up. This happened one time while I was having a very private conversation and I didn't have time to tell the person on the other line that they were on speaker and other people could hear. This happens about 25% of the time I get a call waiting call.

2. If I don't do a battery pull after that happens, the phone will sometimes not ring when a call comes in, and the caller ID screen will get stuck until I hit the red hang-up button.

3. Sometimes the radio gets reset and I get the "SOS" reading for no reason

4. My reception has gotten FAR worse

5. I've been told I sound like I robot now.

What could have happened? I'm going to have to downgrade I guess. I had made up my mind a long time ago to ditch Nextel and RIM products alltogether after my contract is up and this "upgrade" only reinforces that decision. I just don't get how software like this EVER gets released without being fully tested.
Same thing here. Actually was having DC issues along with no internet capability. Did a battery pull, Re-register "Hosting Router Table", and then did a diagnostic test on on the "Mobile Network".

So far so good, would love to know what is causing it.

I am having the same issues with the .313 operating system. I talked to a rep at a near by service center and she forwarded my email that I sent her out to several people waiting for a reply. If I could get the phone book to (a) organize and (b) pull the contacts from it when someone calls, I would be happy and could deal with everything else. I hate it that when someone calls me that is stored in my contacts doesn't come up with the name.

Default DC Issues

I've noticed ever since I did the 313 upgrade that a lot of the times, I'll DC someone, then the radio will reset itself...Never happened before the upgrade..Really annoying

I like the new DC menu even tho i only have two on the list. Otherwise everything seems fine.
Is the OS of the computer where you first tried 64 bit? if it is, that is the reason of why it failed. It happened to me too and it took me 4 hours to finally try with another OS, had to install XP on my macbook and all that :/ but it worked! haha

Check your Profile settings. I had the same thing and when I looked at the settings for phone in my normal profile the notification had been changed to "None" for both in and out of holster. The ringtone was still the same though...

It also quite randomly changed the tones for 2 of my 4 e-mail accounts and left the other two alone. I am now laboriously checking all of my other profiles to make sure it rings when it is supposed to! There are seemly random changes all over the place to no notifier and also even if the notifier was not change to none there are some where the volume is "mute"...no wonder my phone hasn't been making many noises since the upgrade. Sheesh it is going to take me forever to get it back like it belongs.

I am also getting a text message when I get a voice mail...is anyone else getting this since the upgrade?

I just installed the new update and now I am having problems with my Boostberry. My internet and calling service is fine, but my MMS's take hours to deliver and receive a message. I'm also having a problem with my Ramble app that is set up with my AIM account. It sends my messages directly but it takes like 10 mins. to receive a IM, so I'm a little bothered by the outcome of this update. I can't lie, I really like the DC shortcut that has been added but I'm now looking for the older update files so I can downgrade my OS's version.

Everytime I beep someone on my Nextel it shows their name, but if they beep me it will only show their numbers. Has anyone else been having this problem? When I beep them their name will show up on the recent calls list, but if they beep me later that day, their number will show up on my call list. Im really, really getting fed up with Nextels issues. Im really considering dropping them when I get my taxes back and can afford to switch to another carrier. Ive been with nextel for 10+ years now and used to love it, but Im starting to hate them now.

I'm not sure if this is new as part of the upgrade, but I hate the direct send my info option. Who really uses that anyways? I found an option to disable it, hit the call button> options> Direct Connect> and set Auto Recieve My Info to off. Tried it out with another PTT and it worked great. No more having to delete those auto sends.
