MMMmmm tried to load the alx file but got an error in DM stating "No additional applications designed for your device were found."

Kinda wierd...after selecting app loader from DM and then browsing to the location of the talklock.alx file...once I select the talklock.alx file then it displays that message. Not sure what is happening...I have not received that error before.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Try running app loader by itself instead of through DM. I used to get that popup every once in a while with some of my apps.

    C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader/Loader.exe

i think the issue is that the .cod file has no extension in your zip file.

the zip file contains an alx file and a file with a "FILE" extension rite? well here's an answer by armak that mite help

one problem i seem to come across......whenever i backup 3rd party apps, in the folder, it has the pin.alx file and all the apps, but...all the apps are in .file extensions (Type: FILE) not .java or whatnot...
That is the extension they are supposed to have when you do a backup. They are still java files but the windows explorer doesn't recognize the extension so it just gives it the FILE extension.

Hey thanks for sharing. I am having an issue though. I see talklock as an app option on application loader. But when I check the box it automatically unchecks it, not letting me install talklock on my storm. Any ideas on how to solve this?

r u using the dm? try using the app loader itself from:
    c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe

You might as well just update the OP with this link so that people don't have to look through the thread for it.
