I had an app called song id on my voyager. Is there a similar one for the storm?

Yes, it's called "Shazam". It's free to try but it costs a couple bucks if you want the full version. It's not currently on the APP WORLD, but I can give you the third party link

    http ://wackberry.com/bregister/Shazam/Shazam. jad

Send that link to yourself in e-mail format and then open it on your blackberry, it will prompt the download/install from there. Make sure you set your permissions to ALLOW and disable compatibility mode. Good Luck!

Delete the spaces in the link, for I do not have 10 posts yet, and cannot post a link for you.

Nobex Radio Companion will also I'd songs, and show you recently played songs.
And it's free at App World.

When I download that file and try and run Shazam, I get an error starting it - 'net.rim.device.api.ui.decor.Background' not found. Does it only run on certain Blackberrys?

That's for songs that are playing on the radio station you're listening to - it doesn't ID songs that it hears through your microphone.

Hey DjDeity I have the Shazam app and it works great. I think you have to go to set all permissions to allow and disable compatibility mode.

You can do this by going to: Options -> Advance Options -> Applications -> Highlight the Shazam app then hit the BB button -> Edit and set all permissions to allow then Disable the compatibility mode.

Hopefully that works, but it is only a trial for a few months. Once the trial period ends the app still works but you can only use it like 3 time a month or something like that.

Actually, you want compatability mode ENABLED. Your finger acts as a trackball when it is enabled. Otherwise you can't use the menu.
    Hope this helps

Thanks for the help, all. I actually discovered I needed a different version of Shazam. Through another thread, I found a different download link:

http ://rapidshare.com/files/21742 0755/Shazam430.zip (Spaces added due to small post count)

Seems to be working fine on my Curve now.

I knew that the 4.3 OS version would come in handy for somebody.

DJDeity is right about Nobex only IDing songs from the radio, but this comes in handy those times listening to the radio and Shazam doesn't I'd a song!

This is fuggin' AWESOME. Thanks so much for this info guys! I've been looking everywhere for the .jad of Shazam since it disappeared off Mem Leak World, err, I mean App World. Why is the "compatible" version not available? This one works fine! I've been trying to stump it for some time now and it just keeps snaggin' 'em!

It wouldn't have anything to do with it not allowing me to use any other option than "tag", would it? Or is that because I'm using the free demo and haven't paid yet (which I fully intend to do, if it's the right price).
