Hi. The following fix has been reported on another forum to work in getting device reset to work with 5.0xxx.230 and other combinations. If device reset is not working for you you might want to give this a try. I've been getting a lot
of emails saying it actually works. I don't know why it works but thought i'd post it here anyway.
The "fix":
"Go to App World and download app "Quick Search with Google" ( it's free )...after its installed on your phone try Reset Device with QuickLaunch, and see if it works, it does for me... Also, on every reset "Quick Search w/ Google" will have to be restored...just click it and press RESTORE button when it presents itself...and when it restores (it's really fast)...your homescreen (BerryWeather icon) restores also. Crazy you say?? Well I deleted "Quicksearch Google" and my reset device on QuickLaunch stopped working...put it back, and it worked again...did that 3 times withe the same result."
There must be something in permissions that Quick Search is setting to allow Quickpull to work. I thought permission set by an app were local not global, but I may be wrong in that assumption.
My reset function in quick launch now works, but when I am trying to open opera mini 5 I have this error: "Uncaught exception: Unauthorized attempt to monitor key presses." Opera mini 4.2 works fine so there must be a problem with the mini 5 beta. Anyone else have this problem? I am running .238 hybrid.
Awesome fix for QL reset! HOWEVER, it doesn't fix my WeatherBug icon.

I am on the straight .230 and my Opera 5 still works fine.
I was playing with this temporary fix and believe I've streamlined it further.
I DL'd the Quick Search with Google app and installed it. The Quicklaunch reset worked fine. I restarted the Quick Search and then set it to run automatically after start using Start Me Up, 1 second delay.
Now after a reboot, the Quick Search icon sits in my Download folder as an archive. However, the Quicklaunch now reboots each and every time I use it. I ran 10 consecutive reboots without ever touching the Quick Search app again.
Not perfect, but now it's only two steps on QL, just like any other reset app.
That's crazy that this 'fix' fixes it. CA, is this something that's going to be fixed and issued as an update, or do you have to wait until 5.0 goes official for the 9530/9500?
