| | Quick Pull failure due to lock
Good evening fellow CBers!
I've been beating this dead horse into the ground on another unrelated thread, and haven't come up with an answer yet (but people have been trying!).
I have QuickPull, and just recently downloaded it (and the new upgrade). I originally had it set to do the pull each morning at 5 a.m., but after the first two mornings getting up and reading a message that said it couldn't do the phone because it was locked, I changed the time to pull at 6:30 (when I am already up).
The only "locking" application I have on my phone is Storm Lock. However, my screen automatically locks and needs to be reopened by password after about 30 mins, and has done this since I got the phone 3 or 4 months ago. I have it set so that my phone doesn't lock upon holstering (although I don't holster), and I do use the BB charging dock for the Storm at night.
So, what gives? This doesn't appear to be a problem for others, and no one seems to know why my screen locks and no one elses does (this seems crazy to me). I would love to be able to QP my phone while I am sleeping, but this doesn't seem to be inthe cards.
Help?
Thanks in advance.

I guess I've solved my own problem (if anyone's reading)- apparently, because I protect my Storm with a password, it locks the phone and QP won't work. So I will just find a way to do it when my phone is unlocked.
Just wanted to update in case anyone is having the same problem.

I typically charge my fun during the PM. I set the Storm Lock option 'Launch on Charger' to No. I then made sure my QB is scheduled for a time when my phone is charging.

However, the problem is that my phone automatically locks after 30 minutes of rest regardless of where it is (and that's not because of Storm Lock), and requires a password to open it. So I guess I will just have to have QP run when I am using the phone and awake.

Have you tried disabling the password before putting the phone on the charger at night. It would mean that you would have to disable every night and then enable it again in the morning. A bit of a hassle but it should work. I have a password on mine, but have it disabled most of the time.

JPD217 | Unfortunately, not everyone has the option of disabling passwords. My work BlackBerry password is required by pushed IT policy to be enabled.

Bottom line is, Quickpull requires interaction capabilities. If the device is locked, it cannot do what it needs to do... hence, no reboot. If the screen is locked, it doesn't work, it's even documented as something the developer said when he first made it.

Awesome.
I believe QuickPull v3 has the ability to work even when locked...
