Default So, I finally got the OS update email...

I had to laugh at the text.

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software enhancement for your BlackBerry Storm 9530 smartphone. The Research In Motion® 5.0.0.328 release includes many software updates and enhancements:

Auto Correction enabled in landscape view

Improved media experience

Enhanced touch user interface

And much more

I'm halfway tempted to send a message back. Something to the effect of...

Faster, more accurate and natural typing experience. You mean like the extra periods, extra letters, and the missing letters? Yeah, that's more "accurate" for sure!

Auto Correction enabled in landscape view. Well that's great because now that we can't see WTF we are typing in Landscape we might as well hope that the auto correction can figure it out!

Improved media experience. By improved do you mean stereo bluetooth problems, dropped frame rates, and flickering screen? Awesome!

Enhanced touch user interface. Well, I might give them this, but only because of flick scrolling...

And much more. I wonder if "much more" means screen freezes once a day?

Again, thanks for nothing VZW and RIM!

I got the same message this morning and my phone works just as described in the email.

Oh well. I must be lucky.

I never got one either, but my wife did about a week after the OS dropped. Both are working well still.

You can't figure out how to get predictive text off? Have you tried the options menu?

OPTIONS>SMS>AUTOTEXT = OFF

?

OP: I'm not getting extra periods or anything... maybe your tap interval is too low or something?

Yes I did that, turns out it was the spell check messing with me. Everything is good now.

Ever since I updated two Java error messages pop on my phone when I reboot it and the Facebook and MySpace apps aren't on my phone at all even though I installed them and the App Center says that they are installed. Also the crap it said about the internet being faster is a lie, my phone's internet is so slow now and it always says "failed to connect to server" unless I am outside.
