Default This is NOT a goodbye Storm thread

I just hooked my Storm up with opera mini and I have to say I now love web browsing with it. I tried om earlier on and couldn't figure it out so I gave up on it, but now I love it since I actually understand how to use it.

I love my Storm especially after I got into all the leaked OSs and hybrids, they make it run so much better and smoother. Sure the iPhone OS is smoother and much more aesthetically pleasing but I'm still liking my Storm with my Android theme and the custom wallpaper that I made. Plus I can see my screen when the sun is out!

Can your iphone get a custom wallpaper huh? Or can it multi-task? No. Does yours overheat and have shitty battery life? Yeah. So why don't you give me your number and let me MMS to you how little I care whether you switch out of your phone! Oh wait, nevermind, you can't mms!

I love how so many people (including my self) have just recently discovered opera mini at relatively the same time.

I absolutely love my Storm, too. And am sick of all the "goodbye Storm" posts. It's sad that a positive post (like this one) about the Storm only gets a few replies, and trolls who post the "goodbye" or "hating" posts get hundreds of replies. At least most of the replies on the haters posts are in defense of the Storm

Keep on' rockin' the Storm!

This isn't exactly what i'd call a legit rant, though. In essence, all it really seems to be is another case of a Storm user looking for an excuse to bash the iPhone.

NEWSFLASH: The iPhone ISN'T a bad device at all (and neither is the Storm, although BB OS 4.7.0.xxx could definitely use some work) - biggest thing is, the devices aren't even directly comparable; you're comparing Apples to Blackberries.....

It's okay to make a post stating how much you love your Storm; however once you post something like this:

"Can your iphone get a custom wallpaper huh? Or can it multi-task? No. Does yours overheat and have shitty battery life? Yeah. So why don't you give me your number and let me MMS to you how little I care whether you switch out of your phone! Oh wait, nevermind, you can't mms!"

It becomes an iPhone bashing thread. As for custom wallpaper, dunno about the iPhone but my iPod Touch has no problems assigning a custom wallpaper. The OS itself CAN multitask (UNIX is know for its multitasking), it's 3rd party apps that cannot do so (push notifications are an example of multitasking, for example). And I believe that OS 3.0 now allows MMS, i'm not sure if AT&T is allowing it yet; though.

Lol, I used to believe the same thing, until I saw all the apple fanboys coming into the Storm section of our forum. Now I'm an Apple hate machine! :P Furthermore, you can't assign a wallpaper on the iPhone, there's only a picture on the lockscreen which one sees for only a second. The iPhone 3rd party apps cannot multitask, when you open up something else from the mail section, it opens it up and closes and saves the mail section at the place you left off. Furthermore, the push notifications on the iphone are horrible, it takes around thirty seconds to a minute to get an im and if you type an im, you can't even type another on, it locks you on that screen.

And this is a legit rant since I'm talking about something and am highly emotionally driven. I don't like Apple fanboys coming into our forum to bash OUR phones, they should do it at the iPhone section if they really want to be petty!

I think the reason these posts don't get a lot of replies is because iPhone users don't find it necessary to defend their device. On the other hand, us Storm owners have a bit of a complex about our phones and feel threatened when someone speaks the truth.
The Storm was released before it was ready for prime time.

I love my storm but on the same hand I will also say the iPhone is amazing. The phones do different things but I don't think anyone can say legitimately the iPhone is bad because it is not.

Even though I am defending the iPhone do not get me wrong the storm is my prize.

Who cares if its an iPhone bashing thread?! I am just happy that its not another goodbye storm thread or a storm sucks one.

Your right, but its good now. And even if it was crap, don't you think its a bit petty and vindictive to come into a Storm forum, when you're an iPhone owner, and insult our phones. I mean how big of a loser do you have to be to do that?

Ahh where to start...

You can assign wallpapers on the iPhone. You can also assign themes. Just because you can't figure out how doesn't make it any less true. 3rd party Apps are never meant to multitask simply because they don't need to. The core OS of the iPhone is so much more advanced then the POS 4.7 BB OS and being OSX/Unix based it likes to keep itself working at 100% efficiency all the time. The very fact that you think QuickPull is a great app is your first clue to the deficiencies of the BB OS. Lookup multi-tasking, the iPhone does it just fine. Push notifications on the iPhone are ftw. They're amazing. I actually prefer push notifications for 3rd party Apps in place of letting them leech memory and processing power for no reason. The iPhone is a very fluid and finely tuned device. The fact that your argument is based around MMS (AT&T issue, not an iPhone issue; works in every country but the US) and having to use an App to reboot your phone because it can't free up it's own memory and processing cycles says it all. When you can make a phone call and use any of the data services of your phone at the same time, then we can discuss true multi-tasking.
