| | And this is after.Blackberry Storm 9530 Provides Competition To Other SmartPhone
According to Jon Rettinger with Techno Buffalo, the Blackberry Storm was quicker than the iPhone when loading Internet pages. (See the video below)
Unlike the iPhone, the Blackberry Storm has two types of keyboards. It has a regular keyboard when in portrait mode, but converts to a full function keyboard in landscape. When you place your finger over keys they glows blue, allowing for more accurate typing. Link

Link | Of course it would load SOME pages quicker since the crappy browser can barely load real webpages and has to go to the mobile version.

Alas, RIM has fixed the issue as 5.0 has ghost lettering (meaning that when you're typing, the key glows its usual blue, BUT on the cursor, it'll show you which letter your currently highlighting for increased accuracy).

I use the tip of my finger like most people do to type and blue glow is still apparent. Not many people type with their fingers flat on glass. There is a learning curve and after a while you don't even need blue glow.

It took me about a week and I can type just as fast as on any other physical QWERTY keyboard, just aim for the bottom of the keys and you'll hit them with really good accuracy.
In fact, a friend of mine is considering a Storm and he said he didn't think the clicking screen was a good idea because it'd slow down your typing. So he asked me to type a sentence, which was "I am currently watching Entourage". After I typed it, he retracted his statement about a clicking screen being prohibitive in typing speed.

The storm is a good phone and with the improvements it has only gotten better. I only hope that once the storm 2 hit the street that it continues to get support.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | Most likely it will, slower support yes; but RIM will support it. Just look at some the older bb models.

I couldn't agree with you more but the link you posted is based on what a carrier has to say. Thats no different than the postings on CB.
