I was at a Verizon Store picking up a new case for my Storm and while browsing the store I decided to check out one of the Storms on display.

Let me just say that I was blown away... The OS was fast, touchscreen and accelerometer were very responsive...basically it worked just like in that video.

I was so convinced it was running a new OS and decided to check the version and guess what!?....

It was frickin build 4.7.0.61!!!

I even took this picture because I was so shocked!

apparently when the storm was first shipped from rim to vzw, it was shipped with OS 4.7.0.82 . Verizon said it had alot of issues, and downgraded to .65 .

read the article here: BlackBerry Storm OS downgraded at the last minute?

When I received my phone from VZW last week, it has .75. I now have .122 on it and it is as fast as the one in the vid (with exception of the keyboard sliding up - mine more like pops up instead of slides up).

My accelerometer is faster than in the vid. Like others, apart from the sliding keyboard mine is as good or better.

The storm came with .61 on them when they first got to the store. They were supposed yo be updated the morning if the release to .65. Not all of them were though. I was there for the release. I was instructed to update the device myself.

When i bought my BB storm the rep told me that the original release was very smooth, but had to be rolled back because of security flaws. I'm not sure if he was just yanking my chain or not, but it could explain something about why the storm in the commercials is so much faster than anything we have seen so far.
