Default Touch screen stops working in .148

Hello. I am running the official .148 and i have been having this weird problem for the past week. The touch screen and click will randomly decide to stop working out of no where. I know the phone is not entirely frozen because the accelerometer, the 4 physical keys on the bottom, and side keys all still work. However, the touch screen basically disables itself and i cant open anything. The only way i have been able to fix this is by doing a battery pull. I had to do 5 battery pulls yesterday. Anyone else have this absurd problem?

maybe you need to wipe and reload. You might have a bad or corrupt file in there somewhere. Im on the .148 leaked and no probs for me.

in other words, DO NOT RELOAD THE APPS FROM A BACKUP SOURCE. You will need to redownload them and install one at a time.

I had the same problem, a wipe and reload didn't work.

Had to call in for a refurb, that was my only solution.

I could pick up calls, but couldn't see them or make them.

OK, so it wasn't just my imagination. Happens after the unit is idle for a period of time, or locked for a period of time and then unlocked - but only very occasionally. In other words not a repeatable fault. Unless it becomes more frequent I'm just going to leave it alone and live with it.

It's happened to me a few times, and I don't think wiping the phone sounds entertaining, so I'll just deal with it. It's not really that much of a nuisance for me.

This has been happening to me occasionally. But last night it would consistently occur (had to do 4 batt pulls within 3 hours), and the only condition that was constant was the humidity in Houston which was at an extreme last night. I've read others complain about this and wrote it off as crazy talk, but now I can completely agree with their observations.

I'm blown away by those of you saying this is not a big deal. I'm sitting here trying to make some Independence Day Eve plans with some friends via BBM and suddenly the screen stops responding. This is infuriating! This is a refurb unit from Asurion that I received today, and it did NOT happen with my old phone even once. I'm about to flip out. I can't even make any phone calls on this thing, and I don't have a land line, so I'm forced to wait the 3 - 4 minutes for the Storm to boot back up.

This is NOT OKAY. This SUCKS.

I wasn't implying it was okay for you, the OP, or anyone else. Just saying that my personal experience with it hasn't been that bad, and wasn't an issue for me. For clarification.
