Well as I promised that we would have a full .230 here it is...

5.0.0.230 (NO .191 FILES LIKE LEAK EARLIER)

Instructions are as follows,

Please refer to How to install 5.0.0.230

MUST BE INSTALLED OVER .191

Call it a hybrid if you would like but it does not, I repeat DOES NOT have any .191 files.

Some people seem confused:
The leak earlier had quite a few .191 files - this is pure .230 (aside from the exceptions below)
It is still installed over .191 still and if you already installed the earlier one, you can just install this over it

Exceptions:
There will be maybe 3 .191 files - these have been removed in .230, but we didn't remove them in the installer

Almost posted the same thing. My guess is the compatibility issue will still exist as the OS isn't built for the apps, it's suppose to be apps for the OS.

Tabs are gone (for now?) haven't seen them since .140 (I think they're making them "pretty" so we may see them again, who knows - I don't)

Tech. speaking yes your right but how ever it doesn't include .191 files like the previous did if you downloaded the first batch it had 3 files from .191 which were unused it's being uploaded now to not have those 3 obsolete files.

Only reason we can't make it a full .230 exe is because some things are added to registry and it won't play well...

(at least for now we can't)

Is this an actual RIM .230 OS? The RIM beta version that hasn't been tweaked by third parties? If not, then this is STILL not .230.

Im gonna guess its part storm .230 and part tour .230. Not sure why you still need to load over .191 though. Maybe just to get it to load?

Yes because we can't incorporate some registry files which are implemented in RIM .exe's it's being worked on as we speak but we can't promise anything...

You can install it over if you'd like...
Personally I would do everything from scratch but thats just me...

thanks lyricidal for the hybrid i'm running now while i've been waitin for this 230 drop. When i install this can i do it like i did with your hybrid i have using shirnk a os and bbsak? I'm assuming i can but figured i should check and give some props

You should be able to use ANY OS folder and you should be able to delete everything from that folder before installing .230. If not then this is nothing more than a hybrid.

As I understand it, yes. And I don't think app loader will recognize it so you may have to wipe your phone. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that.

You can install this over any OS folder realistically - .191 is just the newest and includes flick scrolling
Restores from previous OS's other than .191 can cause issues with the flick scrolling and/or make it disappear
and yes you can Install .191, delete its folder and install this and it will still work - it just needs a properly installed OS to go off of

This IS the closest anyone will have to a full .230 build! Everyone should thank Lyr for putting this together for us and so quickly!
