Default Read First: Community Software Reviews

Hey CrackBerry Nation,

Welcome to our Community BlackBerry Software Reviews forum.

With so many BlackBerry software applications, games and themes on the market (and more coming out each day!), it's tough for us to cover EVERYTHING on the blogs. Plus we know you all have different opinions that are valuable to the BlackBerry Community!

With that said, the goal of our new Accessory Reviews section is to provide a structured way for members of CrackBerry.com to share their observations and experience with other members and for us to reward the excellent efforts put forth by members!

Software Reviews Concept:

1. Post your BlackBerry software review!
2. I'm going to be watching all of the reviews and am going to pick the best reviews out on a regular basis and promote them to the homepage of CrackBerry.com!!
3. If you are the author of one of the articles that gets promoted to the CrackBerry blogs, we're going to award you with your choice of either a $20 coupon to the CrackBerry.com Accesory Store or CrackBerry App Store!!

Please note, only new threads created in these forums will be Review threads. Members can of course post questions on the reviews within the same thread, but no new threads will be permitted in this area of the site that are not reviews. If you have questions or issues, please use the standard device, accessory and software forums.

Also Note: For the Software Review forums, reviewers should refrain from reviewing beta apps (that contain known bugs that are being addressed) or free trials. We want to see reviews here that are value added for the community and help BlackBerry users to decide whether an application is right or wrong for them, so it should be an application you have used for a while (longer than a free trial) and can make educated observations and statements on. Likewise, we realize the BlackBerry application space is competitive. One thing we do not to want to see are flame reviews in here. If we see an out of place / extremely negative review of an app that has been posted by a new member of the community (with only a few posts/short time on the forums) and is out of place with the general consensus on that application, the moderation team reserves the right to remove it. It's fine to be negative about an application, you just need to be constructive about it. No going off the deep end as that isn't constructive and helps nobody.

Suggested Review Format

1. Introduction - introduce yourself and why you chose this BlackBerry app
2. Set-up, Installation
3. Initial Impressions
4. Longer-term Observations
5. Conclusions
5. Pros / Cons Summary
6. More Info/ Purchase Link - If it's available in our ShopCrackBerry.com software store, be sure to link to it there.

And be sure to include lots of screen captures!

We hope you enjoy the Software Reviews section of CrackBerry.com!!
