I love the Podtrapper app! I used my trial version for like a week and then bought it on Handango for $8.00. I found it easiest to do everything manually. I turn off the dwnlding capabitlity unless I am @ home so I can do it via wi-fi. It seems to be a bit faster. I do 4 or 5 episodes @ a time, delete them as soon as I am done listening to them, and then when I am out of "material" do the same process all over again. Go into settings and look for what works for you I felt that they were pretty self-explanatory. Also if you want to delete older episodes, I found it worked to "default sort" to newest first then scroll to where you want to start to listen then you can "delete all prior episodes." These would be all the ones listed below where you want to start hence the oldest of the bunch. This was particularly helpful when I subscribed to the "Fitness Rocks" podcast considering they had episodes dating back to Jan, 2006. Side note, I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but I have to disable my firewall to get my downloads. Even having to do that though doesn't discourage me. I still think this is a great app to have.

I am still learning it.

I am finding the app AutoStandBy is messing with it..
I get a big battery drain
I seem to get a zillion old episodes (haven't figured how to zapp them away in one hit)
I seem to be downloading a zillion episodes (that is fine! )

I have found the setting to leave 1 gig on my 16 gig memory card..

I am TOTALLY in love with it!!! Its a real 'life style" event for me..(not kidding) I can catch up on topics related to my (self employed) work while doing other things.

I am catching up with a zillion gadget / web 2.0 / technology shows and trying to 'hypnotize' myself into GTD methodology by listening to a zillion Getting Things Done podcasts..

I seem to be able to totally filter out podcasts when something more important occurs in front of me.

I am listening via a mono (one ear) BlueTooth earpiece.. so as not to disturb other people around..

Go to settings> AutoStandby> Disable if music player running. That should do it.

Do you use the firewall?

NOPE!

I have to hit the standby switch at the top of the phone to restart the podcast (cause it shuts down after about 5 mins)

Will try a battery pull.

2.4.1

I skipped Flycast and that other media thing..

See what happens

The Podtrapper developer said there was an issue with Auto Standby but there has been an update to PT since then,,

I can also suggest a work-around: start the options menu and then go to Autostandby and add Options to disabling rule.I use the options all the time anyway,so I keep it on while listening to the podcasts. It's ok.

What version of AutoStandby do you use? I have 1.5.0, and it doesn't have a option to add disabling rules.

I'm having an issue. I have my settings set to download ONLY while charging. However, while I'm charging & its downloading the podcasts, about an hour into it, it turns on "Mass Storage" & my sd card is no longer recognized until I do a battery pull. Anyone else have this issue?

Golfing333. You have to create one, and then choose "Select". Make sure you're not plugged into your computer.

I love "Podtrapper". I've been using the free trial, but plan to buy the license when the trial period is done. I use it to listen to all my podcasts now. I don't even carry my mp3 player anymore. This app has made my Blackberry an even more converged device. I also think the app looks sharp. I must have a newer edition. I highly recommend this app for podcast enthusiasts. I also recommend you invest in a minimally 8G micro SD, but probably better to get a 16G card.

Only caveat...if you are a Tour user, then you have to be careful with the data overages. I think this app works best for those of us that have Blackberries with WIFI. I find it downloads podcasts faster and doesn't eat up your data. Good luck and enjoy!
