...sorry, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer this. I've never done this myself, thus can't answer.

You don't use the THM file, you have to export to ALX and use that in Desktop Manager. Hope that helps!

or you cold export as a the jad. copy/paste all the files to your memory card and launch the jad file on your phone. you dont need DM for this route. just letting you know you have two options.

When you export click the ALX button...this will automatically create the .alx and .cod file...You can load the .cod file directly into Blackberry simulator or you can use the .alx file to load it into your Blackberry using the Desktop Manager..

If you dont have the simulator:
Click Here to go to Blackberry.com's Simulator Download Page..You will have to register with them but this is a free and painless process..Download is availiable as soon as you register...no waiting on conformation e-mails or anything like that..
It is always recommend to run a new theme on the simulator just incase there are any bugs in it...You dont want to have to reset your phone and use your info..It is also wise to regularly use Desktop Manager to backup your Blackberry.

About the .jad files...
You will want to export this version if you plan on uploading to a file server online and plan to make an OTA (Over The Air) Link for people online to download right to their Blackberry..You will usually have to make .htacess file to put on your server for OTA's you can read this thread for more info. You will have provide your own webserver to do OTA's as crackberry.com does not host any files, othan than Images.

Hopefully this will help many new theme builders..and I hope it helps clarify .alx and .cod for you..

Easiest way IMO to do this is:

1.) right click on desktop and make new folder, call it whatever
2.) export theme as .alx to desktop which puts both the .alx and .cod onto the desktop
3.) drag the .alx and the .cod both into the new folder
4.) start desktop mangager and connect BB
5.) add new apps and it'll search for new software but won't find it. Now use "browse" option within DM to newly created folder on desktop with the .alx and .cod files in it.

Only the .alx will show up during the browse effort for compatible software. The .cod is just working in the background like smoke and mirrors. Select the .alx and your new theme will be added to the DM list. Moving forward with the process will then load it to the phone.

Tip: If you decide to tweak the theme later, go through the exact same steps and when the new .alx and .cod files get to the desktop, drag them like before to the SAME folder and choose the option to replace the old files with the new files. (it'll ask if you are you sure you want to do this...YES!) Then when you go through DM, the theme will be set to "upgrade". This way you don't have to change names and have extra, unnecessary themes loading up your phone. Don't do this of course if you wanted both variations on your phone as separate themes.
