Default probs with icons, resizing and activation box in composer

So I've run into some niggling probs with icons and the activation boxes in composer.

Because of the nature of the graphics I'm using in the theme, namely for the docks, I need to reduce the size of the icons, but not just the icons, the actual activation boxes as well.

Now as far as resizing the icons, that part is fine. I've used the guide from pinstack, for batch resizing and that goes okay. The icons get resized but placed back onto 73x73 transparencies. The problem comes in with the activation boxes.

Question is, when dealing with resizing the activation boxes, do I leave the bitmaps for the normal and focus state icons as they are, and then replace them all in themebuilder with the resized ones?

I was getting a strange issue with the icon placement within the activation box jumping up a lil toward the top left. And then in simulator all the icons seemed to get placed further down toward the bottom right. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

In general, what's the best way to go about smalled activation areas and also resized icons?
