Default BB Folder Icons

Ok I have been trying to design a theme for myself. And I have also tried other themes that people have created. I created a theme once just trying some new things and actually got the BB Folder Icons like in the first image, but have never been able to get them again. Does anyone know where I can get the actual BB Folder Icons or change the image for them?

Icons that I want

Icons I am forced to use

Well thats a million dollar question, I dont think anyone has actually figured it out..where did you get those screen shots from?

This is a question that is regularly asked on forum but no one has answered it yet...I have tried everything and them some...

Default Finally!

Yes! I found a thread pertaining to my question!

I would like these icons back as well and I was also wondering how I can create new folder icons for my Storm.

I sure would like something different and as many themes as I have seen and have, none change the folder icons.

Disappointment across the board. Is this even possible to do?
I need/want more options.
Please direct me to any other threads that pertain to this area of question if there is any.

Thanks!

I took the screen shots using BBScreenshooter.

I have been frantically trying to find an answer, I may call up plazmic or email them or something. The icons in my first picture make so much sense as to what they are for. But the optional folder icons that you have to use if you change a theme, cause you to have to remember what each one is.

OK, if you guys haven't seen this yet, then hopefully I accomplished something here. Just found this tutorial on Pinstack and it appears to be the only way to do what you want to do. Haven't personally tried it because all i have is a curve, and no folders to change. Hope this helps.

This doesn't seem to work on an 8900 Curve. I got an error message in BBFileScout when trying to put files in "/store/samples/folder icons/".

Does anybody has an idea?

Not sure about the 8900, but you might want to double check the icons are the proper size, are saved as png files. also, I think once you add your icon to the "stack" then go back to System/Samples/folder icons and copy your icon that you added to your stack - then rename the folder to folder21.png (or whatever the last numbered folder would be).

I dont think you need to go into the "/store/" directory - try accessing the "Samples" folder...
hope that helps

The Icons are in png. I'm not sure about the size. The "copy-procedure" I did the right way (stack -- to folder -- copy here).

In the "root" of BBFileScout, I only see "store" and "SDCard" - no "system".

BBFS may need to be updated for the 8900.

I did find that you can skip a number without any problems. In fact I did so I could avoid # 21 which seems to be the slot for the default folder from the themes.

Even when I try to paste folder22.png in that folder, I get the error message.

Hmmm.. interesting.. I think that is the "root" of the problem (pun intended) in that you are not able to access the directory where the folder icons typically reside ... under the "system" directory....
