I'm not sure why, but when I tried to update my contacts on my phone, it won't let me and I get this error message.

"Contact updated externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed."

Does anyone know what this means?

It would be nice to know what is your source for your address book... and how are you updating it??? Never heard of this error... so I'm guessing it's not GoogleSync.
