Default Dialing from Home Screen...or not

Hi - kind of a dumb question but..... I want to turn off dialing from the home screen so I can check out some of the shortcuts. If I turn it off, how do I make a phone call? -could I only do it from the address book - what if the number I want to call is not in the address book?

Just press the green talk button. From there you can dial numbers from the adress book and off.

If you turn off dialing from home screen, you can press the send button and dial from there. You can then dial numbers that are not in your address book, as well as ones that are by inputting the name from the address book.

Hope this helps!

Thanks a bunch. Most of them work on the curve. The second set does not - it keeps trying to assign a speed dial number. Lost of times savers for sure...Many thanks.

Did you turn off "dial from home screen" option before trying the second set?

Green (Call) Button - Menu - Options - General Options - Dial From Home Screen.

If you press a key for more than a second it will ask if you want to assign a speed dial (or it will call that contact if its already been assigned).

I got it. All the shortcuts work. Yes, I do have dialing from home screen turned off. I was being heavy handed and pressing the button for too long....you just have to sort of tap it....cool. Thanks!
