I'm not an iPhone user so you'll have to excuse me for not being really familiar with the phone and what can or can't be done with it.

My brother just got stationed overseas in Germany. He has an iPhone 3gs that he was using here. He took it with him to the T-mobile store in Germany but they told him they couldn't unlock it. Is it possible at all to get it unlocked so that he can use it over there? Would it even work on the network over there at all in Germany? I'd like to have an answer to give to him but I really don't know anything about the iPhone, so I imagine someone here might be able to give me a firm answer either way. Thanks in advance!

MMS Between iPhone and BlackBerry

I have a BlackBerry Storm, my boyfriend has an iPhone.

I can receive MMS from him without problems, but he rarely receives the MMS I send him (either they don't go through at all or he gets the over size limit message).

My image size and quality are set to the smallest and lowest options respectively; my images are all under 100KB so I know that the size limit (300KB) is not actually the issue.

I've heard of two workarounds for this:

1) Save the photos to be sent as MMS to device memory instead of the memory card.

2) Sending the MMS as an e-mail through his carrier.

I've tested both methods, and neither worked.

His phone is jailbroken and his carrier is TMobile, so maybe these workarounds only work for AT&T iPhones... any other suggestions?

Hey gurus - a client of mine has an iphone and wants to know if an app exists that he can install which will prevent the phone from dialing out or sending SMS to certain phone numbers (i.e. Outbound calls). It would need to be password protected so the user could not disable it.

I realize that there may even be ways around this type of blocking for the persistent users, but to keep it simple I just would like to know if such an app exists.... TIA for any help/pointers.... :D

I upgraded to windows 7 the other day, and unfortunately after the upgrade, my apps were gone. I did not notice, plugged my iphone in, and it started to sync, and removed all my apps that I had. Now, when Im in itunes, and I go into the Applications tab, it has all the apps I had listed. Problem is, they are grayed out so I cannot drag them over.

I know Itunes backs up apps (or at least thought it did). Where would the backup be of all my apps that I could load? I still have my old files from vista including itunes.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Here's the story. I have 4 lines with AT&T and only to are active (mines and the wife's). The other 2 are suspended because family members abusing the minutes use. Anyhow, my wife dropped her 3G in the sink and the home button stop working. This is not an uncommon issue and is fixable but she wanted a another phone.... the 3GS. It was going to cost me 80 bucks to get the phone fixed. The guy that fixes the phones in my area offered 200 to take it off my hands..... so I took it. Now he can fix it for himself and make a profit.

So what I did added a new line of service. Since I have a business account, no activation fees. Start the new line and bought a refurb white 3GS 16GB from at&t for 150. So i'm already up 50 bucks. Cancelled one of the suspended lines and the cancellation fee was 125. Net out of pocket is 75 bucks.

I always keep an extra line on the account. The additional 10 bucks a months saves a lot more when wanting to upgrade to a new, high end device when it's released. Moral of the story, where there's a will, there's a way LOL.
