I am researching the history of sessions offered at Developer Conferences. Unfortunately it appears that the old sessions catalogs aren't available online, and the BB App versions of the catalogs arent in AppWorld.

I'm hoping someone may have a lead on archived catalogs or copies of presentations from the sessions (or a nice zip archive?!)? I'm looking in the 2008-2011 time frame (harkening back to the LEGO theme in 2009).

Thanks for any leads :D

Would allow for a Z10 sized phone to be carried in your pocket, but would allow for the Playbook to be a Z10 when a larger screen is wanted. No need for a G-Note sized phone.

The Z10 would supply all processing and data storage. The Playbook would just be a touch screen.

In April 2013 I have released an app for Z10 (App ID: 26899873).

When the Q10 became available I have released an updated version which supports Z10 and Q10.

Last week the first update was approved but never appeared in the BlackBerry World for Z10. Instead Z10 users were prompted that an update is available but it showed and downloaded the initial release (v 1.0.0) but the installation fails and the BB World is showing that an update is available again.

This is the feedback I have received from annoyed users:

"It was a decent app until thus week, when it started trying to update continuously. Don't have a way to contact the dev, so I deleted it."

"It won't update, it's downloaded but don't want to install. Plz fix...otherwise its good app that's why this problem is troubling me"

This is the thread I have opened here:
App updates are approved but can't be found in Bla... - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Can you help me.

Cheers,

Hey, a couple months back BlackBerry ran their Blog Bounty program that would award developers $100 per app for 'popular' apps created by the App Generator. On March 19th I recieved the email,
Thank you for participating in the BlackBerry 10 Blog Bounty program.

What are the next steps?
After all your apps have been reviewed, cash rewards will be distributed by our program partner Milestone. You will receive an email to confirm payment information from rimredemption@milestoneintegrated.com. Please remember to whitelist that email addresses to ensure you receive your rewards.
For more details on the event and the reward process visit: Blog Bounty

Sincerely,
The BlackBerry Developer Program Team

The link says vendors will be notified before April 22nd, so I was wondering if anyone here got their award? I haven't heard anything about this contest since the email I posted above. My apps aren't the most popular, but they're beating most App Generator applications in their categories so I thought I'd qualify. I was planning on donating the award to my team since we don't charge members any fees and are not for profit. The money would have been nice to pay for gas money to races or to supplement jersey costs by a few bucks.

Edit: Looks like I spelled my title wrong, if any mods swing by this thread please feel free to edit the title. Thanks!

Hi all,

Let me...

Hi all,
My Vendor name is DrunkEddyLabs

I am facing an unfair competition from other developer called nextGen (vendor ID:9573).

Let me explain what is the problem here.

I have an application titled- Motion Avatars for BBM™ (BlackBerry World - Motion Avatars for BBM)
I released this app on 22nd April 2013

nextGen has an application titled- Animated Avatars for BBM™ (BlackBerry World - Animated Avatars for BBM)
he released that app before 22nd April 2013.

Problem 1;
He (nextGen) emailed me on 5th May 2013, asked me to remove my app from BlackBerry World, and he told me that he was in the process of filing a lawsuit, for what he called "Copying his app". I have no idea what I "infringed". Copyright? Trademark? Patent? Well, he simply said that I copied his app.

Fact 1:
I did not copy his application at all, the fact that my app and his app share the same functionality does not mean that I copied his app. My application differs in terms of overall design, and has a totally different name with his app.

My app and his app both has the functionality to set Animated GIF as BBM Avatars, those avatars was searched and retrieved from the internet (websites that provides GIF avatars)

Problem 2:
This is where it get nasty, and what really caused me to post here in this forum.
My application rarely receives negative reviews, but ever since his email on 5th May, my app now constantly receives negative reviews, which are clearly intended to hurt my app sales.

At this point, you guys might think that those reviews might not be from him, but worry not, I have a few of these reviews screenshots from both my application and his application BlackBerry World page.

Those people who posted really bad reviews (by bad, I mean DEFAMATION) on my app, coincidentally posted unbelievably POSITIVE reviews on his app.

Those bad reviews really don't make any sense at all, but highly probably drives potential customers away. (See the screenshots). My sales declines 70% because of those reviews

First Screenshot is Motion Avatars (My app) Reviews, the second and third screenshot are Animated Avatars reviews (nextgen's app). I have highlighted the usernames in colors so it's easier for you guys to see.

Please notice the usernames

Question:
1. Is releasing an app with similar functionality is prohibited in BlackBerry World? Is BlackBerry World a monopoly market?
Riddle me this: If one developer released a Translator application, are other developers not allowed to released another Translator application??? What about Twitter clients? Dictionaries?
Honestly the issue is not that developers do not want to make apps for blackberry, its that the experience of doing so is terrible. Take for example a recent app we made, Recipes by ingredients, it has seen great success on android, apple, windows 8, and even chrome. It was a terrible experience submitting it to blackberry. You hear them criticize apple however apples approval time was nothing compared to the 28 days it took to review our app on blackberry. In addition apple and android devices are plentiful and easy to test on. The z10 is impossible to find and it is a hard sell to get developers to spend $700 on a phone to test (Never trust a emulator) then go through terrible support and a long review process to get almost no support after you launch the product. The fact is the reason blackberry had to make android possible is that it is the ONLY way most developers would even waste there time. I love what the z10 represents and looks like but blackberry has bigger problems now then just hardware and software, there core business model is faltering as they do not know how to deal with developers who are trying to move units to consumers instead of just businesses.

Sincerely,

This reply as well as Ewan's "professional" opinion, really made me mad.
So you dev's tell me, is it really that hard to get BlackBerry to approve an app or is it that BlackBerry wants good apps and is being picky?
Would love to hear the guys and gals with lots of grey matter respond on this one!
