Hello,
I have 9000 Bold, which doesn't recognise any sim card. the phone is unlocked, after typing MEPD every line is "disabled". all i can see after putting every single sim card is "insert sim card" and sos only. i've checked golden sim joints, everything seems to be fine with the sim slot. but there is one thing that may cause the problem. i found out, that there is one missing piece on the mainboard next to the sim slot, on the left side. i've made a photo of it. do you think, that this missing piece has an influance on my problem? what can you suggest me? I would be very grateful for every piece of advice.

I have had my blackberry bold for about 8 months, and recently it's been acting really funny--freezing and needing to be restarted, etc. Last night, it suddenly started heating up and then completely shut down and wouldn't charge or turn on, even though it was working just fine all day.
I'm currently in Riyadh and am having a hard time finding a shop that will fix it, and was told to just throw it away. More importantly than the phone itself are the videos and pictures on it that I really really need to get, as well as all of my contacts' information.
What should I do?

I have managed to recover my contacts from a damaged BB9000 (roller switch is damaged) using Microsoft Outlook Express which was already installed on my PC.
However, when I try to get at the Calendar on the same BB, Outlook Express is not offered as an option, only Outlook on the Set Up Sync box, so I can’t configure this.
Have you any suggestions on how I can recover the calendar?
Using Windows XP.
