I did ask the person at o2 what was included and she said email, bbm and facebook application but not web browsing.

I've been checking their website OMG! Simple Mobile for a while seeing when they will start and it looks like today is the day they're launching their service. Service is $40 for unlimited calling to $50 for unlimited Talk, text, and 20MB of web (20MB more for $5) Which to me is a heck of a deal considering I pay about $70 after taxes and my AAA discount. I believe the data includes BB Web since they're selling the Pearl Flip 8220 for $219.99. I might think of changing over, But I'm checking to see if I can still use the wifi on my Berry...

</sounds like a shameless plug I know :o>

Anyone else heard of them/Have them?

EDIT: According to the rep I spoke with you would only lose Push Email and Tethering. Neither of which I do. So it looks like a cheap way for us to get our Berry fix even if we have to live without a couple small things (at least to me)

Hi all,

I hope I am posting in the correct forum, if not I do apologized. I will be travelling to Malaysia next January and wanted to bring my Verizon unlocked Storm with me. I did a search here at the forum to see what I need to do to get it working but to no avail.

Can someone please share some information as to how I can get my storm working while in Malaysia. I know from reading the 2 providers are Celcom and Maxis. What are the packages available? Which one have a better coverage area. I will be travelling within the Peninsular. Questions I have includes: Does it only provide voice service? What about data?

Any help, tips, hint, information is very much appreciated.

I would like to know if I could release my PIN from the Orange BIS service by just text STOP to 36245 or I do need to call the customer service to delete the Blackberry account for me in order to release the PIN. The reason for asking this is because my speaking skill is not so good and I always have problems explaining things over the phone in English.

He bought an 8900 Curve on 26th October, at the local Vodafone store.
Whilst there, they asked him if he wanted them to set his email address up on it. He said yes, but quickly regretted it!!

The guy at the shop didn't know how to set his existing email address up on it, so decided to suggest that he would set up an address specific to the Blackberry - a .vodafone address which directs his (googlemail) emails to the blackberry. All this took 3 hours in the shop!!:mad:

Now all my mate gets are 'unable to deliver' notices.

He asked me, as I have a Bold which I set up, if I could help.
I set his Googlemail address up in under 60 seconds, using the 'Set Up' manager.

Now that's done, I told him to go back to the Vodafone shop/Customer Services and get them to delete the email address from their records (it's been deleted from the handset, but alerts still come through to his Googlemail account) to stop the email account altogether.

He has just called me to say that the shop has called RIM C.S. and they need the password to that account in order to remove it.

He doesn't know what it is, as Vodafone didn't tell him what it was when they set it up. He tried giving them the Googlemail password, but that wasn't it.

I have told him that, notwithstanding any further tries, all he can do is to go back to the shop and get a replacement phone, which I will set up for him.

He's getting pretty damned fed up with it all!!:(:(

Pete.

Hi All,

I have an unlocked Rogers 8700 which I would like to send to my mom in the UK to activate on Orange. I was thinking the plan with unlimited e-mail and 500 MB data for 12 pounds / month (she has a different phone for voice, and all she wants the bb for is e-mail / bbm / maybe some internet surfing). Will this work with an unlocked Rogers phone? The phone has been mine since new so hasn't been reported stolen or anything weird...

Also, does anybody know if I can go month by month on that plan? It says 18 month contract, but that's if you are buying a phone... Also, would I as a Canadian be able to sign up with my info / credit card? Or would I have to put it in her name?

One more question... if I were to go Pay As You Go, what is the cost / kb? It says on the orange website "max of 2 pounds / day" but doesn't seem to give a per kb rate...

Btw I did try to call Orange... But I can't from my cell phone, and they seem to automatically ignore Skype calls!

Many Thanks!

Hello,

can anyone share or help out with how to configure an unlocked verizon storm 9530 to use internet? my carrier, personal, has the option but doesn't want to give me the configurations, they want to sell me an entire BB plan which I do not need here. phone calling and sms work just fine.and i just want to buy internet access when i need it (they sell it by the week or just the weekend)

I have 0 service books. I loaded opera and got no network connected. No browser. No email. BUT i do see GPRS and EDGE connection and the rep at personal said I could do it if I could get the proper configurations. he put in a request to his colleagues in the bb dept and they won't give configs to me even though their company would still make money...

Anyone willing to share service books and the correct WAP configuration?
