So now that's it's live... I want to buy it on no commitment pricing and head down for Black Friday. I can't seem to get the form to let me do that... nor do I have a SSN. Any ideas on what I can do? I fell short of calling AT&T, as I tried that and found out their offices are closed at the moment.

I'm in Toronto, and looking to go to Niagara Falls/Buffalo if it's any difference.

Thanks.

A) it does not recognize my sim and wont transfer numbers

B) Most Importantly it says "Invalid Sim Card" on the top of my screen and I get no service. I understand that I have a "regular" sim card and not one made for blackberries. But I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get it to work w/o having to go into AT&T and change everything.

Green and Red buttons dont work either, and I am unable to unlock my phone....due to you having to type in blAckberry in order to unlock it.
With thus many complaints, will I be able to ask for a new phone....like a Bold2.....or some sort of Adroid phone?

Well after going though 3 bolds two new and one refurb and 3 weeks later I got AT&T to agree to send me a refurb 8900,I should have it by this Friday. They also credited $150 to my account for my troubles which I thought was nice of them. I had to threaten to cancel my service but in the end it worked out for me,its a good thing because I was within a hair's inch of switching to Sprint and a BB tour.

Yes it took some doing but I finally got a differant BB after all the grief that the 3 bold's gave me. Its a shame because it really is a nice phone. But I think the 8900 will suit me fine until I'm ready for an upgrade again. I'm gonna wait and see how the 9700 does in real world use before investing in one.

Voice quality on Bold is terrible (vs iPhone)

I've had my Bold for a few months now. At first I was extremely frustrated with the "call failed" issue, so I got the OS upgrade and forced 2G all the time. That fixed that problem.

However, the sound quality on voice calls is terrible! The phone will lose signal for bits at a time, dropping syllables so I can't understand the person on the other line. For example, "police" ends up sounding like "lease." I have to say "sorry, can you repeat that?" at least once every few minutes.

I thought this was an AT&T issue and was ready to terminate my contract early, but then borrowed an iPhone 3G and had NO voice quality issues at all. I made calls from the same location (my apartment) where my BB often loses signal/drops syllables. The iPhone had just 1-3 bars of signal also, but the voice quality was great and never dropped any syllables at all.

Does anyone else have poor voice quality problems on their BB? Is this something I could take up with AT&T?

I live in Orange County, CA, if that helps.

Also, is there a restocking fee if I decide to return it and go back to my 8310?
My previous phone was a Treo 750 and I bought the Garmin Nav unit with it. I absolutely love the Garmin unit and it is the only reason I keep the phone around. I usually just swap SIM cards when I need to use it. Is there a way I can just get a new SIM card (easy part) and then just get some kind of prepaid data card or something? Mainly just for traffic, gas, food, etc. The maps are all located on SD card, so it really wouldn't be much data at all.
