I'll try to make this short and sweet.

I have always been an additional line on my parents plan and just paid them as the bill came in, pbviously cheaper than having my own plan. Now that I have graduated, my company offered to buy me an Iphone and join their plan, or they would reimburse me for my monthly bill if I chose to keep my 9900.

I am not eligible for an upgrade until November, but I am looking to get my hands on Q10 as soon as I can. Is there any chance of ATT waiving the early opt out fee if it means getting a new customer no longer on a family plan? Any suggestions? I'm thinking of threatening with just leaving and joining my company's Verizon business plan if they aren't willing to work something out. We have had our plan with ATT for 10+ years.

The last week or so I have been experiencing a lot of issues with my Z10 on regards to the network.

Text messages will send twice, not send at all and ill get the red clock until I restart the phone. It usually takes me about 3 or 4 attempts to send a picture as well via text. And I have noticed a lag in loading pages in the browser. Also a lot of issues with not being able to tweet or post on Facebook through the hub.

Anyone else experiencing any of this?
I have an ATT unlimited...

Challenging ATT-related issue that I'm hoping the forum might be able to help me with. Here's the backstory:

I have an ATT unlimited international and domestic data only plan (BB_INTL_+_DOM_CV), which I signed in January 2010. The plan does not have a voice component and is actually a plan, not just a data feature as a component of plan. It's a $70/month plan on which I receive a 14% discount given a company discount code. However, it’s a plan that I have under my name and it’s not tied to the company per se.

Recently, I decided to try to upgrade. While I could have upgraded over a year ago, no devices really interested me. I'm trying to upgrade to an S4 or a Q10, basically anything other than the BB9700 that I have now since it's creaking along.

I did a bunch of research on the forum and other sites and found that most people have had success getting grandfathered features onto new plans. However, I have spoken with no less than 4 ATT CS people (including several supervisors) and my upgrade request went to some special CS unit that is meant to resolve particularly tricky account issues.

They have told me that I am unable to upgrade unless I add on a voice feature to my account. They have said that I can keep the unlimited intl and dom data as a feature, but without the voice component added an upgrade is not possible. This would add $40+ per month to my bill and the only reason I have the account is for data given how much I travel.

I am in the process of escalating this issue through the chain, but it seems to be a case of "sorry sir, computer says not possible." I’m hoping that my persistence will pay off and I’ll find the right CS person who can think creatively with me, but as of now I haven’t made progress. I have asked whether they can add voice as a feature and then credit me the $40/month, but it's unclear to me whether they'll budge.

Has anyone out there with a similar account faced this problem and resolved it successfully? If so, any guidance would be much appreciated.

Many thanks!

Hi,

I'm from Belgium and have a blackberry 9900. This summer I'm taking a 6-week summer course at Berkeley University. Because I'm only staying in the US for 6 weeks, I'm going to get a prepaid sim card.

Does AT&T offer Blackberry Internet Service on a prepaid plan or any other data options? Texts and data is the most important for me.

Any tips are welcome!

AT&T (NYSE:T) is reacting to criticism about limitations on video chat apps, having given a statement saying we can expect the network to give approval to all video chat apps by the end of the year.

Video chat has been a major issue for AT&T. It has long limited the availability of video chat on the network, having only recently allowed customers not on unlimited plans to use Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) FaceTime app. And with the launch of Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) new Hangouts app, which integrates video chatting, Gmail, and the old Google Talk app into one, AT&T users weren’t happy they couldn’t access video chat. Upon trying the new app, customers were met with a message reading: “You must be connected to a Wi-Fi network to join a video call.”
