Hi there, I run a small company. Always BlackBerry fans moved my BesX to BES10 with some Z10 attached.

Always eager to upgrade I've tried to update to 10.1... ouch.

First I've faced a strange "schema" issue with the sql database (win sbs 2008) during the BES setup.

After various reboot and setup relaunch I did pass through without really knowing why.

Then came the SRP mayhem.

Browsing the Web I've been able to find that Srp was the serial number provided in an email linked to my BES download... cryptic.

After clicking on verify everything went fine...but clicking on Next, generated a "Wrong CAL number " error?!?

Where the hell on this screen is there a field named "insert CAL"

Btw, I did the CAL trade up, created a BlackBerry account management or something like that, entered the password received by email in here in order to collect my licences but... when I click on licence its empty and the help links are unreachable...

I have no BES PhD.

Unfortunately. I'm stuck.

I have a thread in the Q10 forum but it's not getting much help, so thought I'd post here.

My company is in the US. 15,000 +/- employees. We have always supported blackberry and I have a bold, previously a curve. However, company has put BB in "hold" mode. Current BB devices will be supported for 2 more years (with BES 5). They don't want to add any more BB devices. This of course has me going crazy, as I want/need a Q10. I love my Bold and won't give up my physical keyboard. I am constantly on the road, and I truly believe nothing helps me work as efficiently as a BB.

Most people in our company have iphones or androids. Our company uses MobileIron to administer security. I believe that MobileIron will work with BB10. However, I need to convince my company of this. Our company will not be upgrading to BES10 (I even told them about the trade up program).

So, can I get MobileIron to work on the Q10? I can load it from Andriod, correct? If so, does it need a new BES10 server? Will MobileIron on my Q10 give my IT guys the same security controls, administrator settings, etc, just like it was an iphone/andriod? If they can control the Q10 just like it was an ios/android, they have no reason to continue to say "no" to me.

I really need your help explaining to my company what is possible, and convincing them to at least let me try. Surely someone on here has run into this issue....

Thanks!

So, with BES10.1 one of the things about UDS was that we can use only port 3101.

Our set up is that we have a BB router in the DMZ and our BDS instances poiint to that, as do our BES5 installations.

It seems, according to BB tech support that UDS cannot use a router, it needs a direct connection on 3101 to xx.bbsecure.com. The only way is to use a TCP proxy as a workaround until it's developed that it can use a router in a DMZ.

Does anyone already have this configured or can offer any tips?

So we all know I stirred quite a response last week when posting about my old SBS 2003 environment with Exchange 2003 and BES 4.1.4 and wanting to upgrade to BB 10 and BES 10.x.

It appears that one of the ways I can do this (there are several) would be to install a Server 2008 R2 server along side of my old SBS 2003 server and run the BES 10.x software to allow support for BB 10 devices.

Today's questions is fairly straightforward. If I do this, can I support the old 4.1.4 (old BB's) while at the same time run the new server and BES 10.x to support the new BB 10? Keep in mind, a user will either be on one or the other, not both.

Seems that with the seperate boxes hosting BES that there would be database separation and that this would work. What say you?

Thanks.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm a technician\sales\IT\dogs body in a small communications company, and I like to use BES for the easy 'behind the firewall' access to our files, software and servers.

Previously, I had BESx5 and a 9800 which has still been the best phone I've ever owned for reliability and communication. Now I have a Z10 and was running the 60 day trial of BES10 to decide whether to pay for the BES license. The main items I want out of the BES infrastructure is the RDP capability (Now working beautifully after the update) and SIP access to our phone server (Not quite yet - SIP software cant resolve an IP address over MDS).

BES10.0 was running fine, but I thought I'd move ahead to BES10.1 and the latest leak software to see if I could get the SIP client running. Bad idea.

Firstly, I had problems with 10.1 complaining about Mobile Studio still being installed, when it had never been installed. Fixed this with a complete BES10 uninstall and some registry magic.
Now, the install is failing during the final step, and it's referencing files that aren't present in the folders, notably BlackBerryMobileFusionTemplate.xml file in the \studio directory and Web.config file in the \Core

I made a thread on the Support Forums, but I'm not getting an answer there. http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Enterprise-Service-10/BES-10-1-install-fails-at-FuseDC/td-p/2371657

Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Hello.

I have been running a test for my company regarding the new bb10 on a z10 and am experiencing the following issue:

I setup BES last week and was experiencing battery drain from 100 to 0 in 5 hours. OS was 10.0.10.99.

I Installed 10.1.0.1720 (official) then security wiped my device and started new and reactivated BES. Nothing, drain is very quick.

As you can see from the battery guru snapshot I have powered the device this morning at 8:15 and had a normal day until I reactivated BES at 19:15 in the afternoon. At that point battery was at 55% and after 2.5 hours its dead just sitting in front of me and occasionally checking guru.
Network is constant at full bars 3G coverage.

Any thoughts? Temperature on the device was at 34 degrees with an outside temp of 30.
One thing I can't find is pricing. How much does it cost? And what do I get for that cost?
I saw somewhere there's a lite or express version. Is this good?
I apologize for my ignorance but I really do just want simpler info so I can make a decision.

You can't log BBM if you are using Blackberry Balance. This is because Blackberry ID is tightly knit with BBM and BBM exists in the personal profile. The only way to make it log is to go to the new Regulated Workplace Only setup which essentially makes Workspace the only profile. Definitely not the approach I want to take at our company just for the logging.

Things I tried with support that do not work. Pushing BBM to the work world published apps. It just gives you a short cut that essentially launches BBM in the personal profile anyway. Do Not actually delete BBM in the workplace if you do that because that just breaks BBM and blackberry ID. Security wipe to fix it.

Simply turning on the BBM logging in the policy doesn't do anything either.

Not sure if anyone else used this in BES5 like our company but the feature I had to wait for 10.1 as a go live condition by (security and compliance dept) is essentially not really useable unless we want to totally let down the users and give them workspace only.

I am mainly posting this incase someone reads this before doing all I did and need to wipe their device in defeat. Maybe eventually Blackberry will allow a separate BBID in the workspace so it would be doable.

If anyone got this working I will be very happy but support told me this only yesterday.

I can't add rules, there no option for this, but the main problem is that you also can't delete any entries there. There one out of the box called 'Invalid SIM' that's stopping me from activating a Z10 over a wi-fi only, why can't it be deleted ?.
