Let me just start off by saying I am not new to BB's, nor am I new to unlocking them - but this, my friends, has got me puzzled.

The perpetrator - a Rogers 9790, showing everything "disabled" except "Network", which shows "Active" - a typical phone, locked to Rogers.

The victim - me, so far. I run (and am quite familiar with two totally different yet equally capable types of unlocking software, and *both* are doing the exact same thing - in a nutshell, when I go to enter the IMEI, I get to try entering the last digit (which in this case is a 9) but before I can do that, the software defaults that last digit to a 1, resulting of course in improper unlock codes...

Here are the deets on the phone:

IMEI: 359201.04.273733.9 / 352901042737339
PRD: PRD-44242-030
MEP: MEP-04626-002

I've got all the info right, I've double and triple checked everything, but I can't, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, get the software to stop incorrectly inputting the last digit of my IMEI - and neither program will let me edit it after the fact, it's like the calculator(s) are seeing something and "auto-correcting" it... And I've NEVER come across this before - hoping someone 'round these parts has, and can point me in the right direction...

If I can attach screen-shots I will, to try and illustrate exactly what I am talking about - but in both pics you will see the last digit defaulting to a "1", and no matter what I do, I cannot change it to a "9", which is in fact the last digit of the IMEI on this particular phone.

I recently updated my 9790 to the 7.1 software and now whenever I connect my device to the computer and I go to my music while it's connected it says '' To access built-in or media card storage from your device, disconnect your device from the computer.''

The reason this is a problem for me is because as soon I disconnect my device it takes about 30 seconds for all my songs to be added back.

When I had the old software I wasn't having this problem, but I was told the switch was mandatory. How can I fix this??

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I have been having this weird problem since last 2 weeks which is when i charging is full it will only take 1 or 2 hours to drain the battery i have tried updating the software and yet the problem persists, i have took it to a technician they said the problem is with IC power and they have replaced it and still its still the same issue. Furthermore; It lags a lot also.

What is also weird is that when i backed up everything and then restored only the BBM contacts with the SMS and Contact lists the battery will become normal, but when i restore all my settings with BBM history and Pictures etc.. the problem will re-occur again.

Note: I have been having this phone for 1 years and few months and there was no problems.

Good day Guys,

I'm writing here because I think you are my last hope.
I have a BB 9790 with a BIS data plan with an Italian company (wind.it). BIS is active because everything's working (emails, internet, BBM etc.) except for Whatsapp.

That's my problem: On tuesday I've upgraded the firmware from 7.0 to 7.1, everything was ok and I was pretty happy wiht that. On Friday Whatsapp has started to have problems, It did not send or receive any messages. As a consequence, I did a simple soft reset and Whatsapp asked me to be Upgraded to the latest Version. I did it and afterward It remained stuck on the fourth stage of the initializing process (updating) without connecting.

I've tried to fix the problem with the following actions:

-Reboot (hard and Soft);
-Wipe;
-Tried to disinstall and reinstall the APP (almost 100 times)
-Wipe with BBask and reinstalled the Firmware;
-Downgrade the firmware to 7.0;
-Put my SIM card into another BB (and it works) and another SIM into my BB (it does not work);
-Connect the BB to my home WIFI and Whatsapp WORKS
-I gave a call to the service provider and they told me that everything is ok for them.:cant-watch:

Now I think I've tried everything I could...
Please guys, you're the only one that could give me some other tips... :D

Thank you so much

So, i bought the 9790 a while back (sometime last year) and it was doing great. Then i went and bought the Torch 9810 as i got bored with the 9790. A while later i got bored with the 9810 so i came back to the 9790 and i've been using it since.
Until, the device started rebooting like crazy and wouldn't let me use it at all, and the battery died out in about two hours because of the continuos reboots. I went and upgraded the OS and bought a new battery, but that didn't help.
Then i went and tried safe-mode, that didn't help, deleted all my apps, didnt help then i restored the phone to factory settings and restored none of my old content and it STILL DIDN'T HELP.
Then i was putting my stuff back, i was inserting my memory card when i noticed a slight gap in the battery bay. There was a little gap which allowed the battery to move around therefore causing the phone to reboot. So i stuck a little piece of paper, and voila. No reboot so far, and i'm extremely happy.
So if any of you are having the reboot problem, just try to see if your battery moves around.

Hey everyone...i'm new to this so not quite sure what i'm doing.

After buying a bold 9790 last Fehruary, I haven't experienced any problems with it except recently, when it started to reboot constantly by itself. I brought a new battery from Amazon and it fixed the problem for about a week, so i brought two new ones, and they don't work at all. I find that the problem is worse when i'm using 3G rather than 2G and it hardly reboots when plugged into the charger. i've tried everything suggested by crackberry users including a clean reload of the software. Not able to claim warranty as purchased more than one year ago.
