To be honest, I feel stupid asking this rudimentary question but everything I've tried has not worked thus far.

I'm trying to activate my PlayBook on our BES10.1 corporate server and am using BlackBerry Management Studio, which has been all fine and good: I received a verification of successful creation of an activation password there.
The problem I'm running into (as far as I can tell) is when I supply our server address for the PlayBook's activation wizard. I'm not sure if it's looking for a fully qualified domain name for our server or not. I've tried every variation on our server's name that I know but the process never successfully reaches our server to complete the activation process.

Thanks for taking the time to read through this. I'd love to know your thoughts.

Earlier this evening it was reported that a car had been found on the M55 with two men in it, the driver of the car was found to be deceased. A police spokesman said that they had been alerted to reports of a car behaving erratically on the Motorway and upon investigation found two men in a car. They reported the driver as being deceased. The passenger who survived the incident was reported to be desperately clutching a blackberry PlayBook close to his chest and would only say "kill the cat, kill the cat" as no cats were found in the vehicle or nearby, the man has been committed to hospital for further tests. Investigations continue.

I've seen the posts about no sound. But my problem is a little different, I think. I get sound through the headphones, but spoken words seem to almost be muted and non-existent using internal speakers. For example, play an audiobook, I have to use max volume on Playbook and max volume on my car's speakers to hear. Plug in headphones and i barely hear a wisper at max playbook volume. Play music and the instruments are loud but the vocals are much lower in volume and slightly distored.

Has anyone else seen this issue and corrected it? Rebooting, every way, does nothing. It has been a while since I wiped the Playbook and started over, but that might be the next option. I mainly play audiobooks, not music. So I thought that maybe my headphone jack was damaged. But when I play a song and hear loud guitar/drum/etc but distorted vocals, I question it being a hardware issue.

No.... this isn't a post about how I don't like the PlayBook and am moving to another tablet. I really liked my PlayBook but after a year and a half of intermittent use I decided to sell it. I bought it just as the price was dropped Christmas 2012 for $149.00. I just sold my PlayBook for $115.00! It held its value BIG time. I'm not suggesting people should sell their PlayBook's but to see a used 16GB PlayBook sell for that price there must be demand for it. Inexpensive, user friendly and well built products just don't go out of style.

I bought the official playbook minikeyboard yesterday and it looks and works great but it keeps disconnecting randomly, sometimes in a few minutes and sometimes it last longer, I have done everything I could find to correct the problem like deleting all the pairing list on the playbook and pressing ctrl+backspace on the keyboard and pairing it again, also soft and hard reboots, when it disconnects if i turn off the bluetooth and the keyboard then activate bluetooth again and the keyboard it pairs right away but the constant disconnections are really annoying. I tried to use the keyboard with an ipad 3 and it didnt disconnect in the 10 minutes i used it, WTF. Does anyone have a solution to this issue that doesnt involve a security wipe or debrick? Backing up 40gb is not fun at all.

Newby here. Love my Playbooks. Did a search for this problem but didn't find anything that resembled it, so.....

The issue: the wifi networks at my RV spot show up in my available networks but the wifi power symbol is grey and my playbooks won't connect. The ***** is my wife's iPad connects no problem - usually the opposite happens.
I put in the password - nothing, all grey power bars. I deleted all my saved networks, rebooted - nothing. Just a smug iWife.
As a plus, both 16GB playbooks get stuck on the start up screen when near these networks and only then! They heal once we get away from them.
Anyone had this issue? Any help would be appreciated!

10 reasons why the PlayBook Rocks!!!

With all the negativity around the PB not having the BB10 update yet (and the subsequent speculation that it may never come), I thought I would share...

With all the negativity around the PB not having the BB10 update yet (and the subsequent speculation that it may never come), I thought I would share my thoughts around why the PB is a great purchase, in my opinion...regardless of the update, or lack thereof.

For the current market price on both new and used (or even slightly used) units, I still think it is an amazing “bang for the buck”. I managed to purchase 4 PB’s (I use 3 of them...1 still in the box) for around $100 each on Craigslist. Three of them are 32G units, and my daily driver is a 64G unit. All were purchased as new units.

Here are MY top 10 reasons:

1. As a Media Center, I have one connected to my 55"plasma tv, and I stream videos, music, and pictures from my home server to the tv, using the Kalemsoft app. I even use my BB phone as a remote control.

2. With the HDMI connection, I can hook it up to any tv, projector, or other display with HDMI support, and present a PowerPoint presentation...again, using my BB phone as a remote control.

3. Bridge - the ability to use my tablet as a true extension of my phone is an awesome feature.

4. The User Interface...the swipe features. I simply love the way it works. This may be a personal preference, but it’s intuitive, and it totally works for me. I helped my mom with her Android tablet recently, and got really frustrated with the whole Android UI. Again...this is probably a personal preference, but the BB UI works for me.

5. Bulletproof. It doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. I have dropped a couple of them on occasion, and have been very pleased with the build quality and the ruggedness of the housing to “take a licking and keep on ticking”.

6. Multi-tasking. The ability to have several apps “doing their thing” and not missing a beat while running simultaneously is a great feature to me.

7. The screen quality is amazing for a tablet. I am very pleased with the quality of the media displayed, as well as the HD recording of video files recorded with the PB.

8. The stereo sound is excellent from the built-in speakers. I have yet to find a tablet, especially of that age, that can even come close to the quality of the sound.

9. Size and portability. It fits into small storage spaces, and with a slim protective case, takes up very little space. The fact that it can be connected to a larger screen through HDMI makes it the perfect size for a “daily driver” of a tablet. Use it as is for surfing, email, and other mainstream functions, while connecting to a larger screen for movies, presentations, etc.

10. Security. That famous BB security. Forget the need for an anti-virus app. You won’t need one. Period.

Keep in mind, that these are MY reasons, and there are certainly others. For the price point...and the features...even without BB10, it is incredible value.

So, let’s stop and think of all the things it does, and stop bashing it for what it doesn’t do.

Just my .02.

Um yeah it started a few weeks ago when the battery hits 20% it just freezes! I dont know whats happening. This just shows how unreliable any code is when........
YOU DONT F**Kn RELOAD THE OS FOR A YEAR AND A HALF.

Honestly im really tiered of these posts about playbooks softwares not working all the time and people moving on because they cant get it to work or it freezes. One quick tip- reload the os. its painless like cutting your hair.....

In all seriousness my playbook just starting to act up and the only reason I am posting this is if you guys have some comon sense sometimes you realize that the OS is like a band. If a line of code gets messed up the subsequent commands do too. Just like a drummer when he/she skips a beat the whole band is out of tune. Sometimes a reboot or a reload will fix the issue.

These are my simptoms
Slow to turn on
3 hour battery life
Memory Leaks
Freezing at 20% batter
Stuck at splash screen till batter dies after freezing at 20%
This is my solution
Reloading the OS after a full charge. Probably reloading it twice just to make sure. Honestly there arent a lot of kinks on Playbook OS that arent in other OSs. Not enough to want to stop using the device. I paid hard earned cash and im going to use it until hardware failure and blackberry refuses to fix it.
