Obviously it's a Chinese counterfeit, but for those of you who like the design of the Torch 9800 slider, but are also Android fans as well, this could make a decent second phone! It has some interesting specs, such as being a dual sim phone (surprise surprise) and having analogue tv!

I don't know what happened, but now, I put the music onto my BB & when I unplug it, the music just isn't on my cell. I tried my usual method of using Blackberry Desktop Software and I've also tried just copy/pasting the songs from my computer to the device through "My Computer>BLACKBERRY1 ( H: )>Blackberry". It shows that I still have plenty of room on my Blackberry so I know it's not because it's too full. If anyone knows what's wrong or knows how to fix it, please explain it to me. It would be greatly appreciated!

Yesterday my phone turned off from low battery, now it won't do anything.

I plug it into my PC and it connects, then it disconnects, then this will happen every 10 seconds or so. I tried a wall charger and that doesnt work either. I've removed the battery and let it sit for a while and reinserted it and it doesnt work. Whenever I try to turn it on there'll just be a long red LED. Screen doesnt turn on whatsoever.

When I use apploader with the battery in it'll come up "The BlackBerry Desktop Software does not have BlackBerry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer" and when I use apploader without the battery in absolutely nothing will come up.

When I try to use the blackberry desktop software to repair my device and update it it will always stop on "reconnecting to jvm" and won't move an inch.

For a long time the phone has been broken, I could only use the touchscreen for a certain amount of time and I'd have to restart the phone to use it again. And after a while that stopped working because only a few keys on the touchscreen worked. And after a while when I flip the phone up the screen would turn off (I could still type etc. using the keyboard I just couldnt use the screen when the phone was flipped.)

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I just topped this phone up yesterday and now it's not working at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Also I have Blackberry device software 6 installed on my PC and Bdesktop software 7.1

Have a Torch 9810 which I use a WiFi device only i.e. browsing internet, streaming music and similar. It is not associated with any cellular phone provider (have a different phone for that).
You would think that everything else would be working just fine on the phone except of course phone calling and SMS but that is not the case.
The worst of all I can not access the App World and install any apps, getting message - The data service is not operational (!?). Pretty weird considering I can browse internet and do of course have a blackberry ID.
So, I read somewhere that people with that error message should upgrade the software on the phone.
I have ver 7.0 bundle 1346. The latest one available as listed for it on the desktop manager is ver 7.1 bundle 2108. but it also says that only "active BB subscribers" can get it.

Is there a way for me to access the App World?

If there is no fix to access it and no way to upgrade it, is there a way to flush a firmware on the Torch with some other firmware that would let me do those things?

Thanks

This problem has only surfaced in the last 24 hours, but nevertheless I thought I'd seek advice.

Yesterday I noticed my Blackberry Torch 9800 was losing battery charge very rapidly. I'm the kind of person who likes to ensure I'll never be placed in a position when my phone is out of battery and as such it is placed on charge every night. I'm pretty familiar with what will exhaust the charge on my phone and what won't, as well as having a general idea of its generic battery life. Once I noticed it had been losing charge at a rate faster than usual I charged it via my netbook and then later via a desktop computer. It is worth noting that the phone had not been used the day I noticed the charge was dropping.

Anyway, once the phone was fully charged I popped out to a shop nearby. I was using MSN on the phone during the car journey there, and while at the nearby shop. It was intensive use, but I've never had any problems with that particular application adversely affecting battery life. About half an hour later the phone was completely out of charge and flashing the orange warning light. When I got home I resumed charging it via the desktop computer. I checked a few hours later and noted that it hadn't charged at the speed it usually does. To remedy this I moved it from charging via the desktop computer, took the battery out and put it back in again and set it charging via the supplied AC adaptor.

Now, this is where the second worry comes into play. I retrieved my phone this morning with full charge and continued to use it to communicate with a friend over MSN. So far the battery charge is fine. However, during this conversation (which was maybe an hour or so of messages sent back and forth) I would repeatedly receive electric shocks from the handset. I was holding it between both hands with my index fingers supporting the back. The shocks appeared to be issuing from the right hand side, as it was that finger which the shocks would channel down.

Usually I use a different device for applications such as MSN, so I reasoned to myself that perhaps the intensity of my typing was building up a kinetic charge and being diffused through the handset. Having said that, if there is a problem with the battery, I thought it logical to assume that other electrical faults could easily follow.

So that's it basically, if anyone can shed any light on this matter I'd greatly appreciate it. Just shout if you need any further description of the problem.

Cheers,
KV.

I have a Z10 but still have quite a few problems with it especially when roaming. I discovered a sim card called World Sim which is supposed to cut your roaming cost. i have tried to use this in an unlocked 9800 Torch. i can make calls but cannot set up email. Message: Cannot connect to server. In my setup I do not have an option to connect to an email account, I only have an option to activate Enterprise. I have contacted World Sim and they advise to change the APN which I have done but i dont think this is not the problem. Is it because BIS is no longer available and that it is now supposed to work like a smart phone and my operating system does not support it. Any help appreciated. PS I can also connect to the internet via a browser but no emails

I've checked through the forums but haven't come across a problem like the one I am experiencing.

I recently bought a Samsung HM1800 Bluetooth device. I checked and ensured that it was listed as being compatible with the Torch 9800 before purchasing. When I pair it with the handset, I am hearing a beeping sound in the Bluetooth device itself (not coming from the phone). I am hearing the beeping sound whether or not I am on a call.

I paired the device with my Blackberry 9320 and was able to use the device without any problems, without any beeping.

Is it that the HM1800 is not compatible or is there a feature/function on the Torch that needs to be turned off?

Need some help here. Let me know.

Hating it.

You can't (or can't work out how to) do many things you used to be able to do.

EG: Tapping on a tweet in which someone replied to someone else, used to open the whole back and forth.

Or, tapping on a tweet brought up the option to reply, or to retweet.

But now tapping on a tweet just takes you to the persons home page.

Like wth?

I still can't figure out how to see who they replied to and what that person said.

The only way I've figured out how to RT or reply is by pressing the menu button, but that's a pain.
