Just picked up the Storm2 today. Everything seems to be working fine so far until I ran Desktop Manager and then tried to open Blackberry Media Sync. As soon as Media Sync starts, the following message comes up: " The connected Blackberry device is not supported by Blackberry Media Sync."

I was able to use Desktop Manager to Sync and Backup successfully.

I am at a loss. I had previously used Media Sync to move my iTunes library from my computer to my original Storm.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I have installed Outlook 2010 Official Public beta and am using Windows 7Ultimate and trying to install Blackberry desktop manager I have this error:
If I ignore the error I can complete the install but Outlook is not available as options for sync in sync options.
In reading the error this appears to be an Outlook dll...can anyone advise a workaround?
I had no problem installing it with Office 2007 but I am not really willing to go backwards at this point.
Please help if possible.

I don't understand how some users Tour holster can put the 9550 to sleep.

I found an old 8830 holster lying around and decided to test it out with my 9550. Video pretty much explains it all. I found that the Tour holster's magnet is just too high above the sensor.

The Tour holster is the one with the bigger flap.

So I was ready to switch networks because ATT is not so great in my area, and decided to go back to VZW. I've done my research on the proper device, and it was between the Droid or S2. Being a BB loyalist, I decided on the S2, even though I didn't like the unlocked S1 I'd had for a while last year. Thankfully, it seems they have fixed most everything that I disliked about the S1 (but what happened to the browser speed?), and I'm happy with the device so far.

Anyway, on to to the subject. I'd done my price research and found Best Buy had the best price on the phone, so I went there to buy it. While signing up I told the associate about Wal-Mart offering a $100 gift card with select BB purchases and asked her if they would honor that promotion. She said no, so I asked her to check with the manager. The manager came over and said they couldn't give me a gift card and apologized. So with nothing to lose I asked if they could just take $100 off the price of the phone. He didn't hesitate, he didn't flich, he didn't bat an eye, and said "yes".

Folks, I just about fell out of my chair. So I managed to get the Storm 2 for $80, then be able to get the charging pod, holster, car charger, and screen protector, all for less than the phone was originally going to cost.

If you're thinking of getting this device but are on the fence because of price, I highly recommend trying this tactic.

i have been playing a little, as long as the shipped battery lasted, and had a few issues.
the button on the side for voice dial is in a bad spot for me. every time i grab the phone i hit that thing.

and i noticed that the buttons on the bottom, the ones everyone is having issues with, have a stiff feel when you hit the real close to the frame. if i inch up a wee bit its fine. unless im getting the buttons with the issues wrong.

but so far not bad. still have to set it up. but it is 1000% times better than win mo. any one want to buy a diamond?

Well I got my storm2 a few days ago after returning my old one cause I didn't like the vibrate. Well I'm in love again but I'm having many issues.

It's a canadian make. Build feels pretty strong.

Issues are:

When texting it's like the phone can't keep up with me and it lags.

Battery door is a little loose.

Sometimes I can't open up a text message no matter how many times I click it. If I restart my phone then they will open fine.

The battery life is horrible. I took it off the charger at 6 am this morning and it was dead by 3pm with very minimal texting maybe 3 minutes of youtube and no gps, wifi, or bluetooth turned on. Also I just threw it on the charger cause it was dead and the back of the phone is blazing hot.

I bought the phone off ebay but have the purchase receipt from the guy who got the upgrade. It was brand new in box when I got it. Do you think I can call customer support and have them send me a new one?
