seems that everyone is having at least one problem with their blackberry 8350i. mine is that i have the boost service books loaded onto the phone and i can't get the browser to work properly and i cant call out. i get incoming calls, i just cant call anyone. its a nextel phone and it says i am connected to the nextel towers. i'm not sure if it has been unlocked or not all i know is that i spent 4 hours trying to put the service books on and i finally got them on. i can send texts and the direct connect works fine. i also tried downloading the "appworld" thing and it said i was unable to do this. is this cause its not available on the boost network either way?

I've yet to update to the new 313, as I've no problems except for the occasional late (or sometimes undelivered) text(s). I've had to go to Sprint.com and check the MMS section online frequently to see the ones I've missed.
Note: I've not missed any text(s) in the last week!

I see where 313 is now posted available on the Sprint.com/Nextel website... So, those who have updated to the new 313; do you feel it made that big a difference, and are there any quirks that you did not have with 204 and you would rather not have when it comes to 8350i's performance. Thanks.

Pro's?
Con's?

Tried Searching and I couldn't find anything to help em with this.

I'm new to the BB world and just recently got myself an 8350i for work. Love it so far except i have come across just one little hiccup.

My computer recently crashed. All my backups were on there. No biggie, i've got plenty at work that I can use. My problem comes when I do backup's for my BB.

I have over 300 contacts on my BB which I had originally imported form my laptop (mac os x -- But I also use xp) but when I backup it only backs up 17 contacts. When I look at Address Book, Options> Contact Lists Default > Number of Entries > 17. What about all my other contacts?

I really don't want to have to manually write them down. Why aren't they showing up? Can I somehow back them up to a new computer?

Hello all,

I just purchased an 8350i and am in the process of migrating my contract list from the Palm One software.

Anyone who has tried this knows that it quickly turns into an MSExcel nightmare. Im ending up copying the relevant data to a CSV file that will eventually be imported into Outlook. I have two questions and would very much appreciate any replies.

1) Does anyone know how to manually enter a wait in the phone number field. I know that you can do this on the phone itself, but I would like to enter it on my excel chart for importing to outlook and eventually syncing to the phone. I have read that an X adds a pause (8885551212X123). How does one designate a wait?

2) This is my first blackberry device with direct connect capability. Where would I encode the direct connect number in an outlook contact so that when Outlook sync's to the phone, direct connect information is automatically available to the phone.

Thanks in advance for any help.

CS

Go to your phone browser and follow this link Smartphones, Cell Phones & Smart Phones at BlackBerry.com to download it OTA

There is also a link on this same page to downgrade to a lower version if needed.
This version 1.7.0.22 is much faster than previous versions and is great so far.

I just recently purchased a 8350i and had a few questions.

1) I have a data plan on my current plan but do not have the BIS service but I wanted to be able to use my data plan to be able to browse the internet how would I go about this?

2) Im still kinda confused about installing apps do I just put the app files or the .jad files on the microSD card and then somehow install them on the phone or do I have to use OTA?

3) Is there a way to update your profile for your data connection I read on that I go to Options -> Mobile Network -> Menu Button -> Start Provisioning I dont have the phone on me atm to test is this correct?

If you have a place where I can read up on the basic I would appreciate your direction coming from a Nextel flip phone to this.

- 8350i on Nextel -
Thanks in Advance

I see that Sprint is finally showing .313 as an update as of yesterday on their site, however still experiencing issues with not being able to DC. I know I've seen some post that others are also experiencing intermittent issues. Has anyone found a fix?

I tried going the route of trying to resend the service books, went through the tutorial and stopped just before logging into BIS to resend as I have no option in our BIS for some reason. I've seen it before, just don't see it now. Either way, I re-registered the host routing table and diagnosed the wireless network. Seemed to work for a bit, but out again.
