I am trying to upgrade my O/S and have done my searching high and low through the forums to find anyone having my problem.

I am Running Vista 64 Bit and BBDM V 5.0.1

My Progress so far:

Download Verizon V 5.0.0.328... done
Delete Vendor.XML from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader ... done
Open BBDM for prompt... I don't get one so I click the application loader/update device software. I now see my current O/s version of 4.7.0.76 as well as the 5.0.0.328 with a * beside it. At the bottom it says *Only active BB service subscribers are entitled to install this blackberry device software upgrade. I click this version and click next and it says no software update is required for your device.
I did my Research and found the other thread saying to uninstall the automatic update for BBDM then searched my whole computer for any vendor.xml files and deleted them and still no luck. I also tried the APP loader way and it still says no update is required.

One last note is this is a swap unit from TELUS that I just got back today. I had backed up all of my BB to my computer and have since recopied it all back over since picking up my swap unit today. I don't know if that would affect it.

Any help would be appreciated... I don't consider myself a Noob with this kind of stuff so I am not sure if I am skipping or missing something.

For every theme I load into my phone (including the default Zen) that has a "Today" function, my phone hangs like there's no tomorrow. However, it only hangs whenever I click on the "Today" part, the rest of the theme's interface works. I'd usually do a battery pull because it takes such a long time for the phone to come back to life. When I do a reboot, the loading time lengthens dramatically (from 2 mins to almost an hour). Once it loads, it throws an error: java.lang.OutOfMemoryException, hang for several more minutes, then start working again.

I have Storm 1 on OS 5.0. I've tried reinstalling the OS (wipe, then install) but still no luck.

Anyone else having this issue?

Low memory. I have less apps than with .16x and my memory is so low. Verizon continues to push stupid icons to this device making me wonder if that os causing any challenges with memory.

Can anyone zoom on WAP pages with .328? I know it does not work on ebay, but it did work on prior releases. Any setting fixes. Also I receive website errors saying the browser does not support 2.0. Hotmail is one of those sites. You ask why I go to the site with a BB? Cause the BIS goes down more often lately and I want to check my email.

Has anyone come across this issue on the Storm 1 since the Verizon 5.0.0.328 firmware upgrade: If i get a call from someone in my contacts or call someone in my contacts, a record of that call goes into my call log, but if I select that call and hit the Blackberry key and select view call history, it goes to the call history screen but just says "Searching..." and never brings up the call history. If I choose a number that is not in my contacts, the call history comes up just fine.



I called tech support and they passed me to the Blackberry support and they had me sync my contacts to Outlook, then we wiped the contacts and synced them back, then we did a security wipe, but the issue is still there. They are not sure if it is a bug in 5.0 or if the upgrade didn't work correctly. The next step is to completely re-install the upgrade, which will remove my apps, so I want to make sure no one else is seeing this before I go through that.

I'm new, so I apologize if I'm posting where I'm not supposed to... but I upgraded my Storm to the new OS at my local Verizon store. Synced (using the new Mac DM RIM released last month) and now my calendar entries are showing up on the wrong days! But this is only happening when I'm in View Agenda. For example, I had vacation on July 5th-10th this last summer. So, it's a reoccurring event that is showing under EVERY date in View Agenda from July 5th until present (November 19th). But when I go to View Month, it's not there as a duplicate.
