1) Does anyone know when they will stop carrying it?
2) Will they still have refurbs for awhile after they stop selling it?
3) What will happen in terms of warranty if they stop carrying the phone?

Just curious because my warranty is running out. Im on my 3rd storm so I'm not so confident that my it will hold up.
Thanks.

I know that HSPA got a faster network. While I do not have a data plan, and also not want use it. I think I will use WIFI.
If so, is CDMA the same as HSPA for me? What about signal?
I will appreciate if anyone can help me。

I signed up for the 3 year contract with TELUS getting the world edition 9530 storm. I'm on my 4th storm, which I also need replacing because the camera stopped working, speaker phone turns on by itself, and a whole bunch of other things.

1 year is almost up, and I am just so fed up with this phone, it is crap.
I am very interested in the iPhone 3GS so here are my questions:

1. Is it possible to swap my contract or remaining of my contract to the iPhone 3Gs?

2. Could I get a unlocked iPhone 3GS and have it activated with my remaining contract via GSM?

3. How much would this cost, and is TELUS's GSM network as good as their CDMA network? I get full reception in my basement apartment via CDMA, where as my friends with Rogers GSM, they get none.

Or is it better to deal with the retention dept on the phone and order one on there? My phone bills have been around the 50-60 mark and thats with an old crappy flip phone! Basically all im looking for is 400mins/75LD/6pmEW/myfaves/caller id/unlimited data transfer.

So Telus is sueing Rogers over their "Canada's fastest and most reliable network'' ads.

Anyone else find this hilarious, the HSPA+ network has been out for less than 1 month, Rogers's Ad campaign has been on billboards and TV for almost 2 years..

My question is why isn't Rogers sueing Bell and Telus for the same thing? Before the HSPA+ network was launched, for nearly 1 year, Bell and Telus were saying they had a 3G network when in fact it was a CDMA network. We've all seen the Bell trucks with the 3 BB Storms next to eachother showing the planet with the text: "Canada's largest 3G Network" yeah its an equivelent but it's not legal to call it 3G when that is GSM technology..

Anyways, i don't wanna start a debate, i just feel its just funny and a waste of money for them :D

Have a nice day!

Also, do you find the voice quality better, worse, or the same as your experience with the Telus CDMA network?

I'm debating going back to the CDMA network, but wanted to see what others have experienced because maybe I just have a defective unit.
Thanks in advance

Hey Guys - two quick questions.

1. Now that the Storm 9550 has been 'released' for telus, when is it expected that the stores will have stock for purchasing?
2. I have my plan as the Student 50 (with unlimited data, 10 nation wide 'faves'). Are there any student plans left, now that it is switched to clear choice? If not do you think there is any negotiating that can be done - I'm okay with paying 50$ a month again but I think its pretty damned stupid to have such a downgrade to 500 mb a month (not a big deal, thanks compression!) more more so the 5 favs (instead of 10) which are only local (instead of nationwide)...

Cheers

For the immediate future (i.e. in the next month) I will be moving one phone over to Telus. As other phone contracts expire, I can move those over as well. Is there a financial (or otherwise) benefit to doing this or are individual plans the same cost?

Looking for any Telus expert that can clear something up for me.

This weekend I will be transferring my Storm over to a friend of mine (reason being he wants a BB and I want the 9700 lol). My friend currently has a phone with another carrier and is willing to cancel his plan with them but wants to port his number over to Telus for use on the Storm. I was reading on Telus' website about switching a mobile number to Telus from another carrier and read the following regarding what you need to switch:

"If possible, your service agreement, which we encourage you to review to determine if there are any cancellation fees involved in ending your agreement early"

Now, does this mean that he can pay the cancellation fee at the Telus store as part of the porting process? If not, what options are available then?

Thanks to any Telus experts that can chime in here.
