Default Z10 with Etisalat Dubai / Problems with BB ID Setup

    Hi,

i just got my new Z10 and after starting the first time it asks me for the BB ID.
After the input a message pops out saying "...your email adress ...xxxx@etisalat.blackberry.com
will not work with this BB10... ". A short while later I received a msg in my inbox saying that
this device will not support any mail adress ending with "etisalat.blackberry.com" but I do have
the option to forward all incoming emails to any other email adress , etc..

I called the Etisalat Dubai Hotline and they confirmed that at the moment it is not supported
    for the Z10 model.

Has anyone else the same problems ? Or am I doing anyhting wrong installing the BB ID . Normally
switching to a new BB phone all I needed to do was enter the BB ID at the beginning and it took
all email settings right away from my BB ID account.

I am on a global unlimited data package so that should not be the problem. Any help is very appreciated.

    Thanks.

I think it had to do with your data plan. If you are still on BIS then it won't work. You'll have to shift to one those 1GB,4GB, etc data packages from Du Etisalat.

I faced a similar problem and once I did the above then it all got sorted out.

I am on a blackberry unlimited plan and no issues. I only registered my sim on the device again. I called up etisalat and they were very helpful.

I think its Blackberry that has stopped supporting the <name>@<operator>.blackberry.com email addresses.

Check out the below article for a (possible) solution

BlackBerry offering one year of forwarding services for BlackBerry.net email accounts | CrackBerry.com

    Cheers!

I think you are confused between the 2 id's

BlackBerry ID for the z10 is the one you register with blackberry itself to restore bbm contacts etc from the previous phone

The other ID you are trying to use is the BIS ID and that's to get access to your Email and so on. You don't need that anymore, just set up your email through active sync if you use Gmail. Instructions are on crackberry forums.

You should use a gmail or any other email address to set up your Blackberry ID. The blackberry email addresses tied to BIS are no longer supported on BB10. As a courtesy, BBRY will let you forward email you receive on that address to any other email address. The best way is to set up your Blackberry ID with a personal email address.

thanks a lot for all your answers. i always liked the speed of receiving my emails using the xxx@etisalat.blackberry.com as they arrived immediately. when using other email addresses it sometimes took 1-2 minutes. do you have any experiences how fast you receive emails when using ano other external pop3 account or gmail ? thanks again.

I'm with Etisalat! Just replace it with your Hotmail id and it might work

have you ever checked how fast your emails arrive at your blackberry after sending them ? i need a fast reception due to my business. thats why i liked the xxx@etisalat.blackberry.com that arrived almost in the same second after sending it out.
