try here... the thread isn't very active, but it's a start.
BTW - first thing you'll learn about Marines.... the word "Marine" is ALWAYS capitalized, regardless of where it is in a sentence. I'm a former wife of a retired Marine, so I'm a bit touchy on that subject.
Best of luck as you make this important decision. - 01-06-2008, 05:52 PM

Yeah I should have done that but didn't proof read my post. Mt father and his dad were both Marines and would both kill me for not capatilizing the M in Marine. Thank you for the link.

20-year Air Force veteran here. I enlisted on the spur of the moment and because I was tired of busting my *** going from one job to another. I knew mom and dad couldn't pay for college; Heck, I was the only one in my entire family to graduate from high school, much less have any formal education beyond that.
Got to see a good part of the world, went to college (with 75% of my tuition paid for by Uncle Sam) and got an MBA. Now I'm lucky enough to pull down a nice hefty salary to go along with a military pension.
Best freakin thing I did with my sorry life. It will be one of the most important decisions you ever make and one of the most honorable things you'll ever do.

I hope your not doing it to get a reputation or getting sucked in by the commercials. Do it for yourself and cause you wanna serve your country.I have seen so many Marines do it because they think there going to eat nails when they join. that's not the case, it's all about you and whats inside you.I was in the navy for 8 yrs. I would recommend it to any one. I got to see the world for free....and meet people from all around the world

Go for it. I've been Army for a little over 10 years now. Best decision I ever made. Free healthcare, good pay, travel, and you get to drive cool stuff and shoot weapons. What more could you want?
