Red Beans and Rice
The band was good. "Sacred Harmony" They commented on how you can hear a song that takes you back and they played some old southern gospel that took me back to my father and the memories of him driving and humming along to the music.
It was good. In addition to the red beans a pot of white beans was available too. Three varieties of cornbread as well as 3 varieties of banana pudding. - 10-09-2008, 11:39 AM #355

What Awsome times that we are in when we can actualy see biblical prophecy actualy taking place with the whole world in economic free fall we could be on the brink of a 1 world Government.
Any thoughts?Christianity is not a Religion, its a relationship - 10-09-2008, 04:06 PM #358
Prophecy
We see prophecy on a regular basis. Just look at the disasters such as earthquakes and weather. You post will surely generate a lot of responses on eschatology. There has been a great deal written with some based on Biblical writings while some has been just bizarre and not grounded in God's word.
Just to add to the post, the rapture was not really taught until the Darby translation of the Bible. Some still do not believe in the rapture. Not that they are not followers of Christ. They just believe Christians will also go through the tribulation.
My grandmother, a true hillbilly woman from the hills of AR, had some very interesting comments on the Book of Revelation. - 10-09-2008, 05:17 PM #359
Daniel:
(7:21) I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
(7:22) Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
2 Thesallonians:
(2:1) Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
(2:2) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
(2:3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
(2:4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Revelation:
(13:7) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
I have certainly not been given vision or dream or discernment regarding these things from the Most High. However, from those scriptures above, it is clear to me that first anti-christ and tribulation comes, and following this, the Victory of the Lamb and His Saints. I don't see how it could be otherwise, though I'm interested in hearing other views.

I would love to know her thoughts, so post them.
And its funny that someone mentioned the one world system.
I just said that to my aunt this evening before Bible study...that Christ is soon to return and I referenced how ALL of the world's economies piggy back off of the US and now that our market is failing everyone else's is starting to tank and this gives the greatest chance for the one world currency to be ushered in.
I then advised her that the One World Bank met about 2-3 years ago in Germany (she had no clue lol) and I knew then that things were starting to fall into place. She agreed and we both just prayed.
And there are many born again saints who do not believe in premillenialism. I am a premil myself and as Sirfox stated all of the ancient prophecies from the OT and those of John in Revelation point to the fact, CLEARLY, the that Church WILL NOT be here.
And I am one of the biggest eschatology/end time freaks around. The Book of Revelation LITERALLY scared **** into and out of me before i got saved.
It is now my favorite book of the Bible and for anyone interested in learning more about The End Times they need to get their hands on Clarence Larkins book Dispensational Truth. This is simply the best book on the End Times and the prophecies concerning the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Millenial Kingdom and the destruction of the world after the 1,000 yrs.
I would love also to start talking about the signs of the times and get others feedback.
If Jesus isn't soon to come then I don't know what else to say...because too much is happening too fast and a lot of biblical prophecies are starting to happen.
And this economic nightmare that is JUST BEGINNING is the biggest key to all of it.Last edited by msdizzydolores; 10-09-2008 at 06:44 PM.

another thing that is interesting is how Jerusalem is being divided in to two parts
bringing new light as to Zechariah 14:2 how half of the city is taken into captivity just before the lord comes down and fights the nations.
the Middle East peace process is helping to fulfill biblical prophecyChristianity is not a Religion, its a relationship - 10-10-2008, 12:26 AM #363
Hi Ecnal,
Again, I havnt any deep proofs except scripture on this. I see Zechariah in a similar way to Ezekial's temple, which was the plan for the captives on their return from Babylon. However due to their hardhearts (and I do not include the actual righteous such as Ezra etc) it was not built. In the same way I'm thinking the Lord intended to do this thing mentioned in Zac 14:2 IF they (corporate Judah) kept His Law.
Jerusalem, post-Calvary is instead described in these terms, regarding the 2 witnesses:
Rev: (11:8) And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Quite a different picture, you will agree than outlined both in Zec+Ezek+possibly Psalms too. Its not as though God changed His mind - its that the covenant to bring this about was broken by the people. Consider how Jesus wouldn't/couldn't heal+do mighty miracles in parts of Judea that believed not.
Mk. (6:5) And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Old Testament Jerusalem is similar I think.

Hey Ecnal,
Were both the same, I too look to the Word to see what's happening. But I was kind of councilling caution when applying prophesy to what's going on or vice versa. For example, if I lived in 1939 Europe I may be forgiven for thinking that Hitler was THE anti-christ and that the time of woes had come. I mean it wouldn't be an unreasonable conclusion to draw considering the **** that was unleashed. However we know there was plenty of good life after 1945.
Therefore, during this unprecedented economic turmoil, in which we all may predict the closer coming together of a one world financial system and therefore scripture being fulfilled, I would say, let's wait and see and be cautious. There are many economists and business experts that have predicted all this for some time based on business models not the Word. Many banks must go to the wall because there were simply too many banks, like in any overcrowded market. That its banks though has caused the special circumstances we are seeing.
Nevertheless brother Ecnal, let us pay only attention to the One who will shepherd us all through, the Chief and Only Shepherd. Lord Jesus. Amen.

I thought I was a Christian
Hey, all
I was a Christian for 14yrs before I realized that I wasn't. I was a good person, going to church, putting money in the offering, helping with the youth, volunteering, not cursing, and on and on. Hey, I believed there was a God, though I did not read his Word (the Bible) and I was baptized. So why wasn't I Christian. I had completed the steps? Hey, guys, I don't want you to make the same mistake I did so if this doesn't apply to you then don't worry about it, but I'm afraid it will. I wasn't such a good person after all. Oh, I was in my eyes because I was using my standard to judge myself. I looked squeaky clean next to some of my friends but God's standard wasn't mine. God's standard is the 10 commandments, moral perfection. Had I ever lied? Yes. Well, that makes me a lier. Had I ever in my life stolen anything? Yes, but but but I was a kid and..... How many time do you have to steal before you deserve the label of Thief. Guilty. What about Lust? Hello!!! I'm a guy, sure I had. Jesus said if you look upon a women with lust then you have committed adultery in your heart. He looks at the heart not just actions. What about murder? Jesus said if you hate your brother then you are a murderer at heart. So here's the verdict when I compare myself to just a few of God's 10 Commandments. I'm a lying, thieving, adulterous, murderer at heart. Wow.
If that's God's standard then I'd be guilty. Guilty and derserving punishment. Heaven or h*ll for me folks? Law breakers deserve punishment. It would be he*l for me. Isn't h*ll a bit harsh you say. Well think of who the crime was committed against? A Holy God. Oh, and my rap sheet is long!!! I can't count all the times I've lied, stolen, lusted, hated, dishonored my parents and broken the other Ten Commandments. I was piling crime on top of crime against my Maker! I wasn't good at all and I was every bit derserving of *ell. But guess what? I had someone step in and take my punishment for me. Someone who stepped in and paid the fine I deserved. "for God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son that who so ever shall believe in him shall not perish but shall have eternal life. John 3:16 Jesus was nailed to a cross to satisfy God's Holy requirement for sin. It was my sin, though, not Jesus'. Hid did that for me and why me I don't know, but thank you God for opening my eyes! Hey, you say, but didn't you believe? I did but I had not repented, turning from my sin and my own efforts to live a good life. Salvation, being saved from h*ll, is a free gift one I did not deserve and I was trying to earn it by living a good life. What a slap in God's face! He sent his Son to pay my fine and I try to "pay" him back with a few good deeds. That's pathetic. How can you pay that back? I repented and threw myself on God's mercy and fully put my trust in him that he would save me. When I did he was faithful. His Word promises when you repent and put your faith in Him he will make you a new creature with new desires. No longer will you desire the sin of your past but you will desire to please Him and read his Word and pray to Him. In words you've heard, you'd be born again. Will you still sin? Unfortunetly, as a Christian you'll stumble (key word here, stumble) but Christians don't dive into sin, plan it, dwell on it, execute it. Read 1st John. Oh, and go here: wayofthemaster.com/goodperson.shtml I'm not very articulate. This site will better explain. Oh, and really, important, don't take my word for it or even the website above. Who am I anyway. Read the Bible! Start in John. I'm a Christian now, a born again one, and not just in name only. Whew! Imagine living my entire life thinking I was a Christian only to hear those fateful words on judgement day, "depart from me I never new you!" If this stepped on your beliefs then please please please check what you believe against the infallable enerrant Word of God not some poster on a blog like me. My pin 318c43fa

Hey all, I'm a Christian as well. Like many others, I was not living a Christian lifestyle for most of my life, until I moved to Texas and started attending Denton Bible Church. This church has changed my life. Before, my philosophy on evangelism was "let others see my actions". The problem with that is...you know how many atheists think that way? Many atheists say as long as you're a good person and have good morals (which are not easily defined if you don't have God), then you're ok. Other religions are that way, also. Jesus tells us to go out and TELL PEOPLE the Gospel. And this church has taught me how to do that without being what people think of as a "pushover Christian". I would love to talk to others about this if you are interested, and many other things, as I love talking about Christianity to anyone. Especially if you are in college (undergrad or grad student), I love talking about being a Christian in generally a very anti-Christian world. I am also a music major, and most music majors are NOT Christian, and many at my school are anti-Christian even. Anyway, if anyone's interested in hearing more about it, just let me know
.
