    Hi so I'm new to BlackBerry development but I have worked with QT apps on sailfish.

    So I want to build a Whatsapp client on this platform (and maybe port to sailfish as this should be easyish to do). However I'm not a BlackBerry developer and don't know the capability of what can and cannot be done. So if any developers are interested in helping me with this app please BBM me on 2C12DC86 but please only message me if you are serious about realising this project.

    Good luck on your attempt! Getting a close reproduction of the WhatsApp BB10 app is going to be near impossible though, it is one of the most fine tuned and integrated apps on the platform.

    As for what is possible, there has been a developer contest around Telegram clients that saw some great entries, those should be a good showcase around messaging apps.

    I never said a reproduction of the app, a new app, it will be tough and since I don't know the development environment of BlackBerry some help would be very much appreciated.

    Shame Cepi can't bring Whatsup over to BB10, but it uses the Nokia Series 40 API calls so it'll be useless as well come 2017

    Well I'm trying to bring a new one out for BlackBerry as we will need one at some point. The problem with me being the only developer is that this might not feel like a good blackberry app.

    I am in communication with Whatsapp to see if my idea will have any legal repercussions. I will keep you all posted on any updates that will happen.
