So, I asked this dev to port their Android app to BB10, and he said yes. But now it's been 2 days since he sent in his government paper thing that approves your account and this is what he had to say...
Look at what this dev said about BlackBerry.... -.--img_00001487.png

Now, you know Alec Saunders and his crack team are all over this! This account will be approved in "summer" or "soon" or "real soon". All those technical terms that Blackberry have trademarked. You would think that if devs are actually knocking on your door to provide an app, that they'd provide as little as resistance as possible. Seems like the RIM of old hasn't gone far.

The dev process has been smooth for most but there are certainly devs that have had issues that would make you rethink trying to sell for the BB platform. Tell him to tweet Alec and see if he gets a response.

    This is nonsense

First of all - there is no need to register as vendor to develop anything for BB, only to sell on the vendor portal -

secondly, the registration process to give access to the portal to sell apps, can take from 2 days and up - depending on the paperwork needed.

AND - this is quite normal with all the real selling portals around. It took 3 weeks for our iTunes seller account to get activated, and aprx. 2 weeks for our Google Play account. Why starting this negative stupidness after 2 days... tells more about the person who say it..

If the Dev created the app first, and then filed for the vendor account - he/she should only blame self if the account is not ready same time as app..

To create a Developer account, and get the needed keys to get signing keys etc, usually takes less than 1 hour in the BlackBerry system, and does not require any paperwork to be sent ...

so again - if the Dev wanted to port the app, it can be done Without registering anything, Until they are ready to distribute it via BBWorld, ad IF they are ready with the app, done beta testing etc., and "forgot" to register the vendor account until now, at least not start any "blame games", and expect it to take a week or two to get things in place.

His reply was that he's fine with porting apps to BlackBerry but he wishes they were quicker and more efficient as BlackBerry is basically dying.
