Legal issues with developing BB10 apps that retrieve data?
Hi, I just started developing apps and I've chosen BB10 as my platform.
I have question regarding legal concerns. If I were to develop an app that retrieves data from another website or organization, do I need contact them for permission?
For example, if I wanted to make my app have the ability to search a specific YouTube channel for videos, do I need to contact the owner of that channel and request permission?
If I wanted to retrieve stats from a sports website or a gaming website, do I need to contact them? (I understand that I may not have access to certain sites' APIs without contacting them)
Thanks. - 06-09-2012, 11:56 AM #2
I would suggest contacting the Blackberry Dev channels on their blog, if you are on Twitter reach out to @alexkinsella or @asaunders, they are very helpful and can point you in the right direction

you can probably start off at @BlackBerryDev
. Legal issues isnt a RIM issue.. you really should check and read the website. For example MLB stats are property of MLB etc..
