They will connect and communicate with each other through local network wifi, one on one.
Very simple/boring interface on Blackberry side is fine, nice interface on Playbook side. We require full source, full ownership, and sign-off that no source code copyright by someone else was used.

    FUTURE PROJECTS:
-Do a good job on this test project for a good price, and we will have larger projects for you.

    OPPORTUNITY:
-Do a good job on this test project for a good price, and we will have larger projects for you.
-A tip to help win with your bid? Don't give us template responses, show that you actually read this message and know what you are quoting on. Also, give us a screen snapshot of an something you have done for Blackberry or the Playbook.

    REQUIREMENTS:
-Fixed price quotes a must, plus mention your hourly rate for additional feature requests.
-Works on any Blackberry with wifi (negotiable, otherwise at least version 4.5-6.0).
    -Doesn't drain battery too much
-You do NOT have to build anything on the server (we will do that)
-Blackberry phone app must be native, Playbook side can be anything that will work for these needs.

How they connect the first time:
    -Blackberry:
-open a connection to a specific https URL (the server)
    -sends wifi local IP address
-receives two GUIDs and a 6 digit code
-displays the 6 digit integer on the screen

    -Playbook:
-display keypad to input a code
-open a connection to a specific https URL (the server)
    -sends the code to server
-receives two GUIDs and IP address of the blackberry
-opens encrypted wifi connection to blackberry
-sends one GUID (and the playbook's title) to blackberry, and another back to authenticate

    How they connect afterwards:
Almost same thing but we skip a few steps.
On a failed or unauthorized connection, a popup is seen on both devices.

    Blackberry:
-interface can look boring and plain (cheap).
    -can type a message
-can see most recent message only (no history and no conversation display)
    -options menu:
-lists tablets: tapping allows removing a tablet from the authorized list (which notifies server)

    Playbook reading mode:
-left side: scrolling list of past conversations (like the blackberry's usual text message view as seen at http://freshgear.files.wordpress.com...y-bold-sms.jpg)
-right side: the currently selection conversation (sortof like http://www-bgr-com.vimg.net/wp-conte...utocorrect.jpg but with date/time)
-button at bottom to "send message"

    Playbook typing mode:
-top: shows conversations so far for this conversation
    -middle: the message being typed
    -bottom: the usual playbook keyboard
-interface should look as nice as Playbook's email application

    Playbook options:
-checkbox: beep when a message has arrived

    Payment system:
-allows for 2 day free trial
-uses blackberry's payment system to activate

    HOW TO QUOTE:
    1. private message me back your quote
    2. Include your contact info
    3. Include answer to: Do you have any past Playbook or Blackberry apps to show your quality?
    2. Include answer to: How long will it take you to build?

I'd love to help you because this is right up my alley. But I just don't have the free cycles. If you dont get a good answer, consider checking with the GURU(dot)COM website.

Perhaps I didn't make it clear that I'm offering to pay money for a contractor. Are there really no app developers out there that want to gain experience AND make money... everyone wants to just take all the risk and build their own apps?

Anyone? Message me if you have interest.

    More fun creating our own

If you still can't find people, profit sharing might help. Good luck!
