Assuming you already know Java, or at the very least OOP concepts, you can jump right in using the guide Crackberry recently posted on their homepage. It tells you how to get started with developing for BlackBerry. http://crackberry.com/blackberry-app...etting-started
However, that guide assumes you already know how to write Java code. If you don't know the Java programming language, but do have experience with C++, C#, or other similar OOP languages Java will be easy to learn. If you don't know how to program at all though, you'll have to start learning from the basics, so you'll need to start slowly (and trust me, BlackBerry development is *not* starting slowly :P). Check out your local bookstore for intro to programming books.
