I used to back up my bbm chats by doing a phone back up on DM and then opening using another software to read the bbm files and save them on to an excel file. I have not bothered doing that for a few months and now i forgot what software it was, am sure i deleted the software some time ago by accident.

It was something along the lines of ipd reader? But google search shows me something else.

Basically i do a bb back up on desktop manager, and then close it. open the other software, read the back up file and then it reads the contact list, saved numbers, text messages and bbm chat history, i then select the chat and save it onto a excel file. I have no idea what it was called.. does anyone know?
