I intend to download dm5.0.0 B028 but I saw a newer version in the forum dm5.0.1.16 with IP Modem config option?

Can anyone tell me the difference? Are they the same in general?

i would say yes i would go to a official before trying this one just to make sure no one else has problems first thes leaks are starts to be very unstable when getting down to 5.x

Simple, version 5.0.0.x you can download from the official RIM site, while version 5.0.1.x is a leaked beta version, still not available as an official release.
