Desktop manager & 9900: takes long to connect
Anyone else find that it takes Desktop Manager really long to connect to the 9900?

Do you have a large micro SD card with a lot of data installed? The more data that needs to be accessed, the longer the time to connect.

help?
I'm in the same boat as rockstarlp007. My 9900 is in a continual state of "connecting" to DM.
Bold 9900 with os7 .250
DM 6.1.0.35
Windows 7 Ultimate
direct USB connection, no hub
Connects fine to my mac.
Any ideas/help?Last edited by gidiowo; 10-18-2011 at 03:20 PM. Reason: Wrong DM version

I can compare my Bolds:
1) 9700 with 8GB SD connects really fast
2) 9900 with 8GB SD takes upto 5 minutes to get connected. Once after 5 minutes I had to disconnect, and reconnect, as it wasn't working... - 05-04-2012, 11:44 AM #15
Hey Guys - I'm having issues too.
I've given up on DM 7 beta - it clearly is not ready for primetime.
I downgraded to DM 6.1 - connected my 9900 no problem the first time, attempted to backup, got stuck at backing up smart card options (I know I need to go and delete social feeds data...for whatever reason) - it doesn't let me cancel out of the backup when it gets stuck, so I've been hesitantly unplugging it while at the black screen, luckily causes no issues with the device.
However, after this, desktop manager (both 7 and 6.1) just sits at 'connecting' indefinitely and will not connect, I waited for about half an hour while doing other things.
Short of uninstalling desktop manager AGAIN and doing it right the first time...does anyone have ANY ideas?
Can't wait for BB10 when this should all be wireless and hassle free. This is reminiscent of the 1990s.Last edited by Jenks5150; 05-04-2012 at 11:47 AM.
Remember to RTFM. - 05-04-2012, 12:33 PM #16
OK...so after letting it try for a long, long time it finally said it failed and asked me to retry - then it connected. I backed it up no problem after deleting the social feeds data.
However now, it will not recognize the 7.1.0.402 update that I've installed! I literally just loaded it on another 9900 this morning.
There seems to be no method to this madness.Remember to RTFM.
