Desktop Manager:
I've had a Curve 8530 for a couple of months. Verizon is my carrier. When I plug in the phone to the USB port of my lap top, it goes into the installing drivers thing, then tells me the drivers did not load properly and the reason, devise unplugged. Well it is not unplugged so I don't know what's up with that. Then I did manage to install the desktop manager but when I open it, the program just goes away. I can't keep it active long enough to do a back up. So far, the desktop manager is worthless to me. I dunno?

I would try to delete, then re-install the DM software with the latest version available from blackberry.com. If it still does not work, try an additional cable.
