    so i got desktop manager 4.5 and it seems okay and performs backups w/o any problems but when i go to synchronize it says theres no connection to the internet! (and it cant synch w/o a internet connection)
    there most certainly is an internet connection
    is there options maybe to set this up, i cant find any
    has anyone else had this problem?

    When you installed DM 4.5 there was a panel that had 2 choices. One was work email and the other was private or home email. If you checked work email then there's your problem. It is looking for BES.

    Try re-installing DM from the file again. You may need to compleyely uninstall filest and delete the folder in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion

    i checked the bis option
    i already deleted it and reinstalled it
